"Lovely setting but ADA rooms not adequate"

6.0

The Lodge at St. Edward Park is in a lovely park setting. They do need to rethink their ADA rooms that are too far fro the elevators and the tub walls are too tall for an elderly person to use comfortably.

"I was looking to have a really nice, stress free evening for my birthday, and I just didn't get it."

6.0

The general aesthetic was nice. Conveniences of the bars and restaurant was great. Loved the hiking trails and playground nearby. Bed was comfy and room was clean for the most part.

Upon arrival my son and I waited 10 minutes at an unattended front desk to be checked in. The person checking us in was nice and my son mentioned that was it was my birthday that day and the person said that they would bring a dessert next day, but it never happened. From my bed I could hear a buzzing from soemone’s phone next door which was an annoyance. I also had a hard time sleeping bc if the air quality. I turned the temp down to 66 degrees and the AC kicked in along with a really bad musty smell. I shut off the air and opened the windows and of course we were near all the buzzing of the mechanical systems outside. I woke up early due to all the smells from the kitchen. I didn't get sleep. Based on my experience and money spent I don't think I’d stay here again.

"1-star stay in what should have been 5-star in this 4-star facility"

2.0

For recovery from a traumatic family event, my son & I chose this hotel for assured comfort & relaxation - as would be expected for a 4-star facility. Our room: #412. 1-nite cost: $568. The HVAC did not work and, according to the wall thermostat, the room temp was 80º even tho it was set at 65º. We were given an electric fan as a solution but the room never cooled down. The shower stall leaked water and flooded the floor. The toilet kept running after flushing & required removing the tank cover to stop. The handles on the sink faucet were installed backwards. The soap dispenser in the shower didn't work (only figured out when already naked & wet in the shower). The space between the bedframe & wall was so narrow that I bumped into the finial (decorative piece on top of the bedframe) which caused huge pain and a massive bruise right at my hip joint (picture). All of this told to management in-person with follow-up letter later the same day. At the time of check-out, the management response was $100 deducted from the bill ... which I said was not appropriate for a 1-star experience at a 4-star facility. In response to my written letter, no response has been received. No apology. No nothing. We live in the local area with choice of several 4-star hotels. But we wanted access to the spa and to the state park. Due to the injury to my leg, I was not able to take a walk in the park. This stay only added more trauma to our lives.

Its a beautiful property, exceedingly quiet and clean. It isn't near much in terms of activities and things to do. Lovely place to go spend time with family and have a quiet time. I did not like the light in bathroom goes on automatically in the night when you get up, wakes everyone in the room up. Great comfy beds as well.

"Rotten Hotel Experience"

2.0

I did not enjoy my stay here. I spent $400 on a room for one night. I was not given the room I booked and faced a brick wall. After I complained to the front desk I was sent to a room that had a buzzing sound that continuously went off. A prior guest had a similar experience and left a review about the buzzing room I sadly ignored. Now I empathise with them. The room was small. Also, the bedding had holes and the bathroom sink was cracked. I tried the in room dining (room service) and did not receive what was listed on the menu. The meal was supposed to come with Dungeness crab and tender greens. I mentioned this to the front desk and Cedar + Elm (the restaurant) and was told to wait for a call. I waited half an hour and went to talk to them in person when they did not respond. They told me they called me back but I didn’t answer. This was untrue. Next they told me I received everything I should have for my meal. Untrue again. They were rude and treated me poor. I pointed out their in room dining app menu, which I scanned in my room via QR code, was not the same as the printed menu. They never apologized but acknowledged the chef had not updated the in room dining app menu yet to reflect current offerings and to just get something else. I was done with this place by then and missed watching the sunset for my birthday on the lake because they wasted so much of my time. By the time I walked down I was in pitch dark. Oh, and my “Birthday Dinner” was a tiny smashed together lump of cured salmon with some gross sour tasting breadsticks. Overall rotten hotel experience which I flew in from another state for.

"Wonderful location & dog friendly!"

10.0

Loved our stay with friendly staff, new and clean guest rooms, and the wonderful location surrounded by the park. This hotel was very dog friendly and had many areas inside and outside to explore and we were allowed to bring our dog everywhere except for inside the actual restaurants and bars but two of those had either little tables just in the lobby area we could sit with him or outside on the patio. We will definitely be back and recommend to others.
