Royal Yao Yai Island Beach Resort

We’ve backpacked around Thailand and we came across this Absolutely beautiful hotel and decided to have a little bit of luxury. We loved the hotel had access to the beach and I can’t begin to say how peaceful this was. Hotel room was lovely, cleaned and fresh water/tea and coffee provided daily. Beautiful buffet breakfast and staff were amazing. We had a free room upgrade to toilet issues and would definitely recommend booking the royal suite if available. I would definitely return to Royal Yao. The hotel is primarily situated on the beach and there are beach bars, restaurants and shops around but quiet enough to enjoy the peace and tranquillity! Loved it 💛

Good location right on the beach. Nice big room, comfortable big bed and nice pillows. Near shops, restaurants and massage parlours. Good breakfast.

Queuing for the coffee machine, which took ages! Need another machine. Selfish guests reserving sun beds early and not using them for ages, management needs to stop this happening! More sun beds needed. Didn’t like the plastic bean bags, which was all that was left if you don’t come down early. No outside toilet near the pool, you have to walk through reception or go to the cat cafe! Pool didn’t look that clean, looked cloudy and scum round the edges. Probably needs a better pump system! More showers around the pool also needed to encourage people to shower before entering pool!

It was in a lovely location. Breakfast was good - if you got in before the crowds descended upon the area. The staff were great - I felt quite sorry for them, especially the lovely breakfast staff, as some of the tourists were rather badly behaved and there was lots of poor manners on show that they had to put up with.

The crowds and the children. They took over the pool area and the breakfast area after a certain time and it made it a little unpleasant. My wife and I did not go in the pool or lounge at the pool area because it was 'overrun' with some of those people being very noisy and somewhat rude.

Organised chaos, staff in reception and in the restaurant area don’t seem to have any direction from management, tables not being cleared quickly enough at breakfast to allow new guests to have a table to eat at. Pool not clear main filter obviously needs replacing and the biggest dislike of all is the ++ tax and service charge total of 17% extra on the bill and you still have to pay the service charge if it’s crap service. This hotel is for families with young children so if you want peace and quiet at breakfast and by the pool and you don’t want to be dodging food from the kids that’s all over the floor at breakfast then book somewhere else

Die Lage des Resorts ist toll, direkt am Meer (toller Sonnenuntergang inklusive). Unser Zimmer war klein, aber gemütlich mit einem bequemen und großen Bett. Unser Balkon war mit Blick auf die Rezeption. Die Anlage ist gepflegt und das Frühstück sehr gut!

Das Personal ist eher lustlos bei der Arbeit. Das Einchecken hat schon lange gedauert und auf die Zimmerreinigung mussten wir einmal bis Abends warten und dann waren auch einmal, nach der Zimmerreinigung, ALLE Handtücher weg. Das habe ich aber auf dem kleinen Dienstweg mit einem Zimmermädchen geregelt. Die wenigen Liegemöglichkeiten am Strand und am Pool werden leider bereits sehr früh morgens mit Handtüchern belegt. Auch wenn im Laufe des Tages keiner mehr wieder kommt, wird nichts dagegen unternommen. Das hat unser Urlaubserlebnis etwas getrübt!
