Actually the hotel was almost empty on that day. So there was no buffet or breakfast laid out. Value for money on such a property is obnoxiously on the higher side.

The staff were great and couldn't be more helpful. The room was large, clean, had ac and the view of the mountains, just perfect. The room had a kettle and tea which when you are a Brit travelling is perfect 🤣👍Bathroom had everything you need, this is just what you want when travelling. Perfect location when visiting Dharamshala for the cricket.

Nothing I didn't like. A couple of niggles from my perspective were basically down to the Indian waiter not speaking good English and an Englishman not speaking and Hindi, but we got there in the end and the food was always good, recommend the chicken tikka butter masala and butter naan 👍👍

The room was clean. Sometimes it was nice food. The beautiful view.

My choice of this hotel was based on a beautiful, spacious room and balcony with a view. But when I arrived they offered us an outdated, small room, no view at all. I started arguing and room was improved, but it was still very small and as I found out later I couldn’t seat on the balcony because it was a sewage pipe, so it was smelling disgusting. More the kitchen was one floor below and we couldn’t open the balcony door because of smell from the kitchen was spreading in our room. Unfortunately, not all staff speaks English, but just say “yes”, and after waiting 30 mins you understand that they didn’t get you and you need to explain it again. The food was a lottery, sometimes it was great, but mostly it was fatty and barely edible. The location is really bad, the taxi in this area is super expensive. The hotel offered a taxi service who charged twice more than a random taxi in the city.

From the moment I checked in and they gave me masala tea and biscuits until the moment I left and they told me it had been an honour to have me staying there this was simply one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. A beautiful breakfast every morning – the menu changed every day as well, so that was really exciting. And the service from Vivek was warm and friendly and the perfect start to every day. The room was spotlessly clean and had a breathtaking view of the Himalayas. The hotel arranged some wonderful tours, some great massages and even a rooftop banquet/barbecue one night! I would recommend anyone visiting Dharamshala to stay at this hotel. Congratulations to Ashok and Manish, and everyone in the team there for running such an excellent venue. I have never been so sad to leave a hotel, and I will certainly be back to visit one day!

Kingdom 13180 A gem with a view of the Cricket ground and Mountains Review of Treebo Trend Ortus Residency Pending review I booked at The Ortus Residency for my visit for the 5th Test in early March , I was delightfully surprised daily by the standard of the hotel , the views from my room and balcony , how comfortable the room was and as the outside temperature fluctuates , how easily it was to warm or cool the room , the additional room with sofa was welcome , the hotel WIFI keeping me in touch with home , large bed ....superb .....but the X factor of this hotel was the Staff lead by a excellent manager in Ashu Chaudhary , Nothing and I mean Nothing is too much trouble for him and his team , The service , the cleanliness, the choice and taste of the food provided (I booked Breakfast and Lunch or Evening meal ) ...so much choice ....presentation five star , My case broke they fixed it , my shoes were cleaned , efficient laundry service ... we even had one meal on the roof with a log pit ...big wow , more like staying with your family , than a hotel .....it take a lot to impress me , I have travelled extensively for decades , but this place is a gem , just make sure you don't book my room , when I return , oh not licenced but you can bring your own drink in no corkage ...further too the Cricket test finished early they have a excellent taxi driver Rishi who takes you around , I can not recommend this establishment more ......what more can I say ....!!!!!!!!
