Location is good and accessible to many places of interest in Pondicherry

1. The room in which we stayed had a permanent odour in washroom. This was extremely uncomfortable throughout our stay and not at all acceptable . I request the guest house to relook the issue as this has been an extremely uncomfortable experience 2. The room service was only limited to a certain time bracket , regardless of one staying out the whole day. 3. Breakfast served was cold and did not have any taste, we were not aware that the guest house does not prepare breakfast in-house. 4. The condition of Bed was absolutely unacceptable; this has resulted in severe back and neck sprain. The bed is simply put on springs which are not at all comfortable while sleeping and as a result cannot hold the body weight. We have had sleepless nights owing to this discomfort. 5. The quality of WiFi was extremely poor and owing to no mobile network in that area, basis communication was extremely tough 6. The place had many insects which we had to personally deal with and probably attracted to our room on account of bad odour in washroom.

The place is pretty (corridors, plants, etc.) and works for social media buffs. Thats about it.

Let me give some context - I (30F) have traveled my share in life both within & outside India. I have stayed in good (Mariott Platinum Gold member) and budget places. I have NEVER come across hosts this TERRIBLE, INSENSITIVE and point blank INHUMAN. Let me explain. I travelled with my father (67M) and mother (55F). We had called twice before our travel date to inform that we would reach early (6 AM) and confirm about early check-in. The host promised that they would allocate if the room was empty. 1. They did not open the gates for a good 15 minutes. 2. By the time we reached, my father had an awful stomach ache that led to a fever. Though the rooms were empty, they refused to allocate them. We didn't have much choice and decided to wait. We went out for breakfast and came back at 9. 2. At this point (10 AM), my father could hardly stand. I begged the host to allocate just about ANY room or some space for us. He came and met me. To quote this very kind man - "Its not my problem that your father is sick. I have been doing this for the last 20 years and I know what I am doing. This is not my problem." I was honestly shaken. 3. When we had called the day before arriving, I had requested an Indian breakfast and they had agreed to source it (instead of the continental option they normally serve) with a warning that it might get cold. We had agreed. When we asked about this, they point-blank refused. In fact, the host's wife came to me and SCREAMED at me for suggesting this and told me she would "DEFINITELY NOT PROVIDE" anything other than the continental option. She screamed. Infront of my sick father and scared mother. For 15 minutes straight. What. A. Terrible. Woman. 4. They did not even ask for a glass of water this whole time. 5. They made my father carry his bag to the room - mum and I had two each and well, we were short of hands. Look, I won't even get into bad bathroom, uncomfortable beds or, sewage.

The location is just superb. In the middle of all things you want to do in white town. Yet it's not too noisy.

A bit more effort could go into the breakfast esp considering the rent is not basic.
