Winter Garden Apartments by Sasco

Good location, on the square in the town centre. Spacious inside.

The internal stairs were not ideal for us as we have a small child. The kitchen has a low ceiling by the sink, fridge etc so not suitable if you are taller than 5ft8. It was not particularly clean, the bathroom door was dirty, the mattresses were very dirty and stained and one of the pillows was dirty and stained which could be seen from the side of the pillow case. The sofa was also heavily stained. The ironing board was broken and did not stand up properly. You could hear loud music outside during the evenings and the living room smelt musty and like cannabis when we arrived.

The apartment was clean and spacious, it was actually much bigger than the photos made out, very well lit and good appliances! It was perfect for a one night stay, location is good - 5 minute walk down to the front and shops right on the doorstep. A few doors down from Winter Gardens itself which is where we was attending an event so perfect spot for us!

The back bedroom got most of the street noise at pub let out times, this disturbed me overnight but noone else in the apartment seemed to notice. This is the room with two single beds so if you was putting kids in there, they might be disturbed.

Location

Flat was cold on arrival. We immediately turned on all the wall heaters but the flat never got properly warm. When sleeping we were cold. Behind the lounge tv is a gaping hole into the eves where the builders never finished off. Think draughty! The double bedroom mattress was very thin and cheap. It made for an uncomfortable sleep (in addition to being cold). The last time i slept on such a cheap thin mattress was at university halls of residence 30 years ago! It put my back out and i walked with a limp for the next few days. You’ve been warned! 🤷🏻‍♂️

generally shabby apartment floor in kitchen was sticky when walking on it bedsheets off colour - stained needed repainting beds very uncomfortable no dishwasher ironing board broken surround on TV in sitting room never finished - large gap around perimeter you could see behind it into another room that was filled with rubble and rubbish - not sure where it led or if anyone had access through it into the apartment. no heating on when arrived - apartment had been empty a while and it was freezing - beds felt damp. no heating supply in the bathroom - very uncomfortable in winter shower was abysmal - no water pressure
