Great visit

It was very beautiful and clean, and it was nice being right by the canal

Stayed from 8/15-8/17. We had to call two different times for new linens due to yellow stains and hair on the sheets and comforter. I had checked the mattress prior to sleeping to look for signs of bed bugs, as I always do, and didn’t see any, but the mattresses were in a zippered cloth so it was hard to visualize. The second night we were there, around 12:30am I was still awake and aware of something on my pillow. I turned a light on and found two bed bugs on my pillow. Upon further inspection, my husbands feet and legs were horribly bit. We left most of our belongings in the room and packed our three young kids in the car at 1am. The front desk asked for my phone number to follow up as nobody was around at the time (management wise) to talk to. I called the morning after we left and was told management wouldn’t be around until Monday. Plan to update this review if/when I hear from management about compensation for this costly experience.

Only negative was arrived at 1:30p, room wasn’t ready which understand early check-in doesn’t always happen. Came back at 3 for check-in, still not ready. Stood and waited for 20 minutes while 3 families went up and got their room. Gentleman I asked a couple times before stared right at me and walked off. I went up to next associate who promptly checked me in. No reason why the guy did that as I didn’t give him any sort of an attitude. I relayed to the other two there and neither seemed to care and one of them had a manager in their title.

Arrived and the parking/check in process was a complete mess. Room was nice. Expected a microwave but it wasn’t there. No room light on except physically turning on each lamp. Considering this was handicap accessible, that was fairly inconvenient. Parked in parking garage for the 2 night stay and didn’t exit garage till we checked out. That’s where the big problem arose. Cars all packed up and were exiting. Machine requests parking lot ticket. It’s in the room, in the envelope that had our room keys. There is a HELP button on the checkout machine, but no one answers or comes to assist. Now I have a car behind me and I can’t back up. The screen says $250 parking fee, duration stated 1 minute. Paid the fee. No receipt came out of machine. I immediately called the front desk. The lady tells me the $250 feet was because I lost my parking ticket. Technically it’s not lost. It’s in the room that I don’t have access to. I had a friend that stayed 3 nights, and she checked out of the garage with her room key. Her parking charge was $88. I don’t expect the parking charge to be free but $250 is highway robbery. I have requested this policy to be provided in writing. Still waiting. I’m disputing the charge with my bank. I booked with Hotels. Com and contacted them. They were unaware of the fee as well but could not provide a resolution. The parking charge was more than one night start.
