Budget 8 Motel John Day

Our room was very big! Family owned and where friendly and accommodating.

The room itself was fine except the door could have a better fit and lock system. The room was clean and had everything I needed. My only complaint is that check-in time is supposed to start at 3pm. It was after 4pm when I arrived and I was told I couldn't have the room yet and to come back after 5pm. I came back at about 5:30 and the room was ready. The door was unlocked and the key was laying on the table. It seems they may need more help to clean and prep rooms.

Broken bathroom door, poor lighting, no smoke detector, door didn’t close properly appeared to have been broken at some point . Would never stay here again

Good room, good air, heat and TV. Great shower. No real complaints. It’s a mom and pop place. Maybe a bit tired, but we could have easily spent a week here. We love the one story, park in front of your room type of place where we can sit outside our door in the evening. Only one long block from Chesters, the only grocery store in town. If they don’t have it you don’t need it!

Furniture and carpet worn. Longer shower curtain to keep water in shower versus puddling on floor and extra terry shower floor mat since floor gets very wet.

No working ice machine, loud band playing outside the business/bar next door. TV has no channels to watch unless you have a account for, Netflix, Hulu, Prime etc, room appears clean and the bed is satisfactory

Owners are great!! Allowed for earlier check in and provided extra supplies of coffee.

It was good accomodations, my only complaint is the lights did not work in the bathroom. But as I was only there one night it wasn't a big issue.

Mini fridge was turned all the way off and we had to toss out food.

the motel was clean comfortable and quiet, staff member was helpful; would have liked a few extra towels and pillows but that is a minor issue
