"Mistake with date/reservation"

Somehow the date on my reservation changed when I clicked the back button to check something out about the room. Therefore the reservation was for a day earlier than I was making it for and we weren’t aware of this until 9pm when the inn contacted us to ask why we hadn’t checked in. We called thein. And hotels.com for help but no one was able to move the reservation to the next night (when we were planning to go stay) even though there are empty rooms. It’s extremely disappointing and we will never use hotels.com again.
