"Fantastic sea views from a lovely, comfortable hotel on Falmouth Beach. Ideally located for a trip to Martha's Vineyard"

10.0

The sea view was absolutely fantastic during our stay for 2 nights in early Oct. Our ground floor room (12) opened onto a small patio and then we were on the beach. The weather was superb so we enjoyed blue skies and water and the sound of the sea lapping on the narrow beach. The sunrise and sunsets were stunning, too. The other side of the hotel is Falmouth Harbour with a plethora of boats. Our room was spacious and comfortable with 2 double beds, an armchair, a kitchenette with a microwave and fridge. Paper beakers/ plates/ plastic cutlery were available from the reception office. The patio had 2 chairs and 2 small tables. Two sunbeds and a parasol on the beach were assigned to our room. A "nice touch" was a record player with 5 albums including one by the Beach Boys (very appropriate!). There was good storage and hanging space. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a shower cubicle (watch your head for the door frame though if you are 6ft plus tall) and an excellent supply of soft white towels. There were 2 fire bins on the beach which were lit each evening of our stay and, on request, the office would provide marshmellows for clients to cook. A parking spot was assigned to our room. The location may be an issue for some as it is a 30 minute walk to the Main Street which has a good selection of bars, restaurants (we can recommend La Cucina Sul Mare & Flying Bridge Restaurant) and shops but the lovely Black Dog Heights cafe is only 7 min walk away for breakfast/lunch and there is a reliable UBER service for taxis. The nearest pub/restaurant is Shipwrecked - c 15 min walk on Grand Avenue along the coast - we didn't try it. The Island Queen ferry terminal for crossings to Martha's Vineyard is c15 minute walk from the hotel. Edgartown (served by a half hourly bus service during our stay from Oak Bluffs) is well worth a visit and we can recommend The Seafood Shanty overlooking the marina/Chappaquiddick Island.

Beach view from the room was outstanding from very calm and beautiful sunset to waking up to a stormy nasty sea... Such a great experience...

"Sound location"

8.0

The room was very nice. However the amenities were apparently off season, so no coffee maker and no instructions for television operation. The location is great and the staff friendly. Beautiful views right on the beach. Would go back again.
