Very attentive staff who were prepared to offer a different dining option if I couldn't manage steps to to the restaurant

The steps up to the bar and restaurant. The wet room floor was slippy.

The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and fitted out to a high standard. Very clean. The shower especially was superb. The hotel receptionists were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Location very handy for The Eden Project which was our main visit purpose.

The two barmen in the lounge bar were not particularly friendly or helpful. On the first night I stood at the bar with no other customers present and was totally ignored for about 5 minutes, despite being stood right in front of them they didnt acknowledge my existence. So rude. Customer service training needed, which you would not expect in a hotel of this standard. We would normally eat in the hotel, the food prices were high but we could have lived with that. However, we like wine with the meal and the wine prices were totally outrageous ! £11 for a 125 mil glass and £22 for 250 mil. NO WAY were we going to pay that, hence we used local restaurants every night and paid normal prices for food & wine. So the hotel missed out on our custom and maybe should reflect on how much trade they maybe are losing.

Great building. Helpful reception staff. Great staff in the breakfast room. Good choice of breakfast. The free drinks in the fridge.

Feel I’m being picky but feel these things could make a difference. Single ply toilet paper. Not having a plastic cup in the bathroom for cleaning teeth and having to take the glass glass out of the bedroom to use in the bathroom. Not having a small tray to put used spoons on.

The hotel is a good use of a building that was not needed for many years, so this is recycling at the highest level. The building has been converted in a very efficient way so it has not lost its atmosphere.

We where put in a room with two single beds pushed together and not a double bed as I expected.

Friendly staff, great amenities, great breakfast

Although the food served in the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast was excellent, the food arrived a little cold each time.
