citizenM San Francisco Union Square

A welcoming place with fun touches. There is a great loung-y reception area with lots of color, several seating areas, a near-by bar & coffee service, and staff to help with check-in to drinks to check-out. Thanks to Leona for helping, & for some top restaurant ideas. Yup, the room was small, but very well planned & things worked just fine. The roof was open but just a bit cold to stay long. A very nice stay!

5 out of 5! The staff here at the CitizenM hotel in San Francisco were so so nice and accommodating! They gave my boyfriend and I a free drink coupon upon check in, and because there was a hiccup with using a gift card for our stay, they gave us free breakfast as well for the next day! The rooms itself are quite different, with them being more-so modern and high tech, if I had to use descriptive words. There is an iPad placed in the room which can control a good amount of the room, such as temperature, light color, and the TV! Overall, the CitizenM hotel is a gem of a hotel and we’d love to stay here again!

Location has to come first - it would be hard to beat for convenience, just metres from the station for the BART train from/to SFO and points all around the Bay Area. The room was a clearly-advertised trade-off between scale of room (tiny) and location (pretty much unbeatable). For its tiny size, room was perfectly comfortable and surprisingly peaceful. Nice vibe in café / coworking / bar area.

There was a minor mix-up at check in (there were two instances of my booking) but all resolved. Internet dropped out for a little time in the morning, which also took down all the room controls (for lights etc!). And to a Scotsman, the price seemed quite high, but I understand that this was actually a pretty good price for CA.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice and both visits have been lovely. The team that works here is friendly and attentive from the security at the door to the team working on the main reception floor. A big thank you to Evelyn and Mei who provided amazing service at the bar. They were friendly and super accommodating with my food and drink requests and lovely people to chat with. The rooms are small, but it gets the job done. The beds are comfortable and the housekeeping team dos and excellent job cleaning and making the room fresh. See you all again soon
