Elk River Hotel

Cozy room with nice view of Sutton creek. Staff very friendly. Emily makes a fantastic breakfast. The glamping domes look like a great retreat too.

What a nice find. We've been to West Virginia for years with family roots. When this property showed up or Hotels.com, it was a pleasant surprise. Very quaint and cozy on a quiet street on the banks of the Elk River in Braxton Co., WV. Called to check on us as we were running late, offered to hold the Cafe open for dinner. Escorted to your room. The history of it's old period construction with new touches is really cool. Bed comfy, quiet night. We intend to stay again.

Beautiful heritage house, I booked it last minute to get off the road in a snow storm.Minor irratence that the room wasn’t made up at 5:00, but I hadn’t given much notice. While it is period correct the claw foot tub just isn’t as functional as a modern shower. The rest of the house is like stepping into a time capsule. It would be a lovely place to check out in fall.

Quaint hotel by the river. Comfortable and quiet. Staff isn’t always on sight. Limited breakfast hours. Staff is friendly and courteous.

Friendly

Elk River Hotel and Cafe is a quaint, fairly isolated but classic spot. This was our third time here and we enjoy the ambiance and remoteness of this hotel.

I thought the property was nice. The area was quiet and safe. Parking to the location is a little bit of a hassle if you get there later in the evening.
