Holiday Inn Express Thomasville by IHG

The stay was ok, but there are a couple of things that would like to address. The first thing I would like to address is the smoking area was next to the front door, which I had to walk by and smell smoke whenever I walked out or walked in the hotel. That was discomforting. The next thing I would like to address, is the attire of the workers in the establishment, a worker was sagging their pants and did not look like they were wearing a uniform but a plain white t-shirt.

Hotels.com said pet friends, and we had stayed here 10 days prior with our schnauzer and saw other people with yorkies got to checkin and they said NO PETS. We could not reason with them and had to go search for another hotel that was pet friendly with no luck. This hotel is NOT pet friendly and this was a horribly ling trip with no where to stay.

Very nice place. As a mattet of fact, it's literally the nicest place in Thomasville, and the surrounding area. It's a practically new hotel, but very nice.

Newer hotel but very poor customer service. The receptionist was on what sounded like a personal phone call when I approached the front desk. She did not acknowledge my presence while on the call. I waited 2-3 minutes for her to finish. I told her I had a reservation and gave her my name. No greeting, she just said” I need your driver’s license and credit card” No smile, no personality. Looked like she’d rather be any way else than at that desk. She gave me a room key with minimum info about breakfast in the morning. As I turned to the elevator, two women in housekeeping uniforms were sitting at a table intended for customers. There were two cleaning carts and a vacuum sitting behind them. They acted like this was their break room. I regretted making the reservation and spending $ 151.00 on a hotel which I have an rewards account. I could have stayed at hotel down the road for $50 less and my business would have been appreciated . Several times during the night I was awakened by loud noises. Sounded like someone was dropping a hammer on the floor above me. I noticed in the morning that there was no hair dryer in the room, just one small attachment left under the sink. When I reported that on the way out in the morning, with wet hair, the woman at the desk raised her eyebrows , implying that I took it. I don’t think I’d spend $150 to steal a $20 hairdryer. Their housekeeper should have noticed it was missing when they cleaned the room from the previous guest. Never again at this Holiday Inn, and I’ll avoid the brand in the future if possible.

Expedia lists this property as pet-friendly. It is NOT - unless your pet is a service animal. Fortunately, we were able to register our Golden Retriever as an Emotional Support Animal, and we brought his certification with us. We did not have to present it at check-in. Unless a property accepts ALL pets, Expedia should not list it as pet-friendly.

New facility that is clean and quiet

This hotel was very clean and the staff was super friendly. The hotel felt safe and it was very quiet at night. Comfortable beds and nice room. Breakfast was enjoyable and had plenty of options. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town, but it was a very short ride to restaurants in the area. Great location for that part of Alabama.
