The Tompkinsville Inn

The hotel was nice and clean. The stuff was nice and friendly.

A woman was at the front desk who couldn’t communicate with me in English so she called to a young person to come out to help me. I made reservations but they couldn’t find them, and I had to ask if there was a room available, she didn’t just offer one. I asked for non-smoking, when I opened the door the room reeked with the smell of smoke. When I went back to the front desk, the young person (teenager) and woman were still there, and when I said that I had asked for non-smoking she started arguing with me that the room she gave me WAS non-smoking and how they had a sensor that would show them at the front desk if someone smoked in there. I said for her to go with me and smell it for herself. Then she opened the door she had come out and talked to someone and then she came out and said that they would let me have another room. When I tried to check out I had to go find the person cleaning the rooms because ringing the bell got no response. That lady was very nice and courteous. Although it was relatively clean, I will sleep in my car before I would stay there again.

The staff was friendly. The room needs better lighting. Extension cord to connect lights kept coming out because it was behind bed. Lights flash when rolling in bed lol. Outlet was very loose plug falling out. Room felt dirty but i don't think it really was

I was traveling alone for personal reasons. The room was fine. I had a problem with the shower because I had never seen a shower where you pull part of the nozzle down. I am elderly and it was difficult to take a bath instead of a shower. I also noticed that they used microfiber sheets in my room - which you can't bleach - and which hold in odors. I felt like I was sleeping in a mechanic's bed. Don't know why they didn't use cotton white sheets that you can wash in hot water and remove all bodily scents.

Only motel in the area. I have to say that it is a small business, not a chain. The people service was good. If i had to stay in the area, i would choose this place. Pool, smokers for bbq, gas grills, and very clean. It is not a 3 star, but a really good 2 star motel. I had the best night sleep here and i stayed at 8 hotels this trip. I smoked outside my room and grabbed a can for my butts. It was gone and thrown away within 20 minutes. They keep the place up well. Skip breakfast.

Found empty beer cans and pills behind night stand. Room was ok. The owner however is a prick.

It was clean and comfortable. I would suggest booking online and not over the phone as there are some language struggles. Staff was super nice and accommodating. Continental breakfast. Everything worked. TV. Coffee pot. Microwave. Fridge. Ice machine. Well, the ice machine glitched and the attendant fixed it after he was made aware of the jam. Hot water. Clean beds. What more do you need?

Please don't advertise breakfast as a selling option when I can find more food on the floor of my truck. Other than that, nice place at a good price. Friendly staff and spacious, comfortable rooms. Its good to have a hotel this nice in the area.

We were able to check in early which was very helpful due to the circumstances as to why we were traveling.

Great room for an overnight stay. Clean, quiet, and comfortable.
