PINE VALLEY MOTEL

It was a mom and pop place (not a chain), but you can tell they work hard to keep the place clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the ac was working perfectly, the room was newly renovated and a fridge and microwave were provided. It’s not luxurious, but it has everything you need for a 1-2 night stay while exploring Linville Falls and the Blueridge Parkway. Highlight of the stay was the night staff. He was absolutely gracious and kind, showed us a couple of rooms so we can choose the most comfortable and quiet room, had a genuine conversation and made us feel really welcome. I’ve stayed in Mariott, Fairmont, Accor, Best Western, Holiday Inn, Travelodge, Ramada, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Days Inn, etc. and it was the most genuine checkin experience we’ve had. We need more good people who take pride in what they do.

The staff were nice. I booked the room and saw an email asking me to complete my booking so I ended up booking twice. The property had to okay the refund for the second booking and did so quickly. It was no fault of theirs that I booked twice and I appreciated their integrity.

Looks like renovations are being done. I felt the room was overpriced for what it was. Floor was sticky, no working ice machine. The door was flimsy and I was afraid someone would kick in my door as there were some sketchy cars in the lot. The room had a perfume scent. Needs heavy curtains because the light from outside shines in and makes it hard to sleep.

Not much choice of places to eat without getting in the car. The room was not as clean as it could have been.

The management and staff were very pleasant

the bed had no comforter, just a cheap fleece blanket. The bathroom floor was sticky and slippery, even with shoes on. And of course, cheap toilet paper. The shower was awful, the water flow was almost non existent. The shower floor and seat very slick and I fell in the shower. The hotel room was not worth the price. I would not stay there again for the price charged.
