avid hotel Fayetteville West by IHG

We booked at room at Avid Hotel Fayetteville to stay while moving our son into the university. When we arrived to the hotel late in the evening, we were told that they did not have a room for us. They claimed they have tried to call 5-6 times to tell us this information which was NOT true - we never had a single missed call from the hotel. At midnight we were left with no place to sleep during a very busy time in Fayetteville over move-in weekend. The hotel still charged our credit card earlier in the day for the reservation. The following morning I spoke to the General Manager and he said that no compensation was possible as "the ownership group would not allow". When digging a little deeper I learned that the GM would NOT reach out to the ownership group of IHG on my behalf to make things right. Terrible situation ending with even worse customer service. DO NOT BOOK AT AVID FAYETTEVILLE...no matter how desperate you are to find a place in Fayetteville...DO NOT BOOK.

Things smelt sooo bad. Seems there was a flooding issue a few doors down and I don’t know if it was the cause or not but it was not pleasurable and I wish I would’ve asked to be moved but I was too tired to hassle

I was put into the worst room I’ve ever had in my life. They clearly had a pipe leak and removed an entire hallway of carpet with exposed concrete with fans blowing hot air to dry any additional wet drywall and baseboard. I was directly in front of the exposed ceiling where they repaired the pipe. Due to the warped wood, my door wouldn’t fully shut on its own and had to be slammed shut in order to fully close. The hot fans and humidity made the room much warmer. I was trying to get the room down to 68 but I could only get the room to 71 even with the thermostat set at 61. Very disappointed and won’t be back

Good stay. Quiet. No big frills but no big price, either. Very safe.

Great place to stay very friendly employees very clean

I have stayed at this property earlier this year and the first time I was very pleased. This time however was not great. The room I was assigned was on the second floor at the end of a corridor, only 4 rooms at this section. Clearly, they must have had water damage in one of the rooms, because they had four commercial grade fans turned on continuously. One of them directly outside my door, so the noise was constant. The bathroom door would not stay shut unless it was slammed close. Would I stay at this location again, probably not.

Service very nice, great place to stay

Water leak, very noisy/rattly ac, sealed cups were opened, water leak on my floor, significant mildew and something else that looked really gross in the shower, and both treadmills were broken in the gym. Ceiling tiles were missing everywhere I went.
