I found this hotel very hard to locate, tucked down an alley. On a summer evening it was manageable, but as a solo female traveller I would not feel safe walking there after dark in winter. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, they are the highlight of the stay. My room on the 2nd floor was basic but clean. However, the carpet was worn and threadbare in places and really need replaced. The biggest disappointment was the food. I ordered a pizza and potato waffles, the pizza was burnt and impossible to cut, while the waffles were soggy and undercooked. After a 4.30am start, travel and work, I just wanted a decent meal, but it was awful. Staff did offer a replacement or a glass of Prosecco which I appreciated, but declined by this time I had had enough and was exhausted, a refund would have been appropriate for the food. Breakfast wasn’t much better. The hot food tasted of poor quality sausage and bacon, though the cold selection was more acceptable and the toaster made perfect toast, perhaps only offer continental and do it really well. For £145 for one person for one night (breakfast included) plus £22 for an inedible evening meal, this stay offered no sense of value. Disappointing overall.

Good location, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, excellent staff

- small room size but enough for 1-2 night stay - facilities are in good condition - breakfast was good (even though it had smaller selection compared to other Moxy I stayed in) -location is central but still quiet enough for a quality sleep

- no storage area/wardrobe in the room which would be a problem if i stayed longer than 2 nights
