Cucuve Eco Hostal

Very comfortable rooms, the best kitchen we've used in two months, lovely grounds, an easy walk or cheap taxi into town. Alfredo the host is very helpful too, even coming to the airport to drop off some binoculars we'd stupidly left in our room after check out. A real hero. We definitely recommend for comfort, quiet and relaxation in San cristobal

Very friendly owner, spacious room, an actual king size bed (a first for us in Galapagos). Location is a bit out of town which we found a plus because it is nice and quiet at night.

The owner is very very nice and ready to help at any time. The room was absolutely clean and the value was great.

Unfortunately the walls are thin and the windows don't insulate well against the noise from the street. If it's a windy day the windows rattle which woke me up a couple of times. Also there was no hot water at all and the internet disconnected all the time. I know it's bad on the islands but that was the worst I've seen. Also the tv makes a loud background noise when you use the receiver and the picture quality can drop significantly to were you can't watch at all anymore. No reading light, only bright light.

The family are lovely and very helpful. They picked me up from the ferry and dropped me off as well, no charge. The room is very clean and welcoming.

Location was quite far out of town, but it was a nice walk in and return taxi was only $2 so not an issue. It was also nice staying away from the coast and seeing some different scenery.

The family that own it are so lovely! They don’t speak English, but their son translated well. They will drive you to town and they are always trying to help in any way that they possibly can. Such lovely folk!

I was not a fan of the cold showers but I got used to them quickly and it was not bad at all!

The hosts were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much, they helped me plan every aspect of my trip and I was encouraged to help myself to the most delicious fruit! It felt like a home away from home, Alfredo knows the island so well and I was super grateful for his insights, his tour was fantastic! It is a little out of town but its only a short walk, which most importantly is very safe and well lit! Even as a solo female traveller I felt perfectly safe walking at night. You really don't feel like you're far from anything but have the luxury of being truly in nature. Honestly I can't recommend Cucuve highly enough and I would absolutely stay here again.

Very nice and helpful host in San Cristobal,who picked me up at the airport and helped me moving out from the hostel! Very clean and confortable room with great kitchen. What a great stay. Alfredo met us when we arrived and immediately offered us a ripe banana from his trees. After a few minutes of talking (Spanish) he brought to our very clean, very spacious rooms. Both had AC but we barely needed it because it was late June. He acts as a taxi and is about the same cost as any other taxi. He offered us to do a private guided tour from the hotel to el junco, the tortoise sanctuary, and then puerto chino beach the next day for about a quarter of the price of the rest of the tour places. They also do laundry (for a few of course) and they provide breakfast if you ask for it the day before - very inexpensive and delicious. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
