Hotel Forty Five, Macon, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

I had a great stay. Everyone was helpful. Shout out to Sydney working valet parking. And to the front desk staff. I will definitely be back!

First off, the king room we stayed in was clean, spacious, and had great amenities. That’s where the positives end. There were a lot of weird things about our stay that were off. For example, even though I paid in advance through Expedia, I ran a credit card at check in for incidentals, then later in the evening we couldn’t charge our bar tab to our room because they couldn’t access the fact that I ran a credit card at check in. Also the elevator key system didn’t consistently work, and at one point we could get the elevator to do TO THE MAIN LOBBY, let alone the floor where our room was located. My husband had to get his key card re-programmed 3 times in a less than 24 hour stay. Then, on the morning of our departure, the television suddenly didn’t turn on. Little things add up, and at this price point I’d expect consistency.

The staff is amazing! Rooms are beautiful, beds are comfortable. Location is perfect.

The location was perfect for us!

The rooftop bar had been booked and we could not use it. We were planning to meet with family and friends there. It would have been great to be notified of such so alternate plans could have been made ahead of time.

We came to town to see a concert at the new Macon Amphitheater and decided to stay and enjoy Macon. This hotel is right in the heart of beautiful downtown Macon with many delicious restaurant options, and the hotel itself has 3 good places to eat/drink. We enjoy delicious drip coffee at their coffee shop, Reckon and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious burger at Hightales Rooftopbar and some of the best cocktails made with love by Rebecca (not on the menu but try her Sidecar!). The Golddigger is also very good) The room is beautiful with a nice size SMEG fridge, desk area, beds are so comfortable, and air conditioning is awesome (not loud!) Melanie, who checked us in and out was able to share a lot of the rich history of Macon, give us several recommendations and made sure our stay was perfect and memorable,

A 2 star hotel at 4 star prices.

Great location right in the middle of town. Bar on roof was nice (no draught beer though). However if you want real beer there are various tap houses and bars in the area. Staff polite and helpful. The room was really nice.

This isn’t a cheap hotel and I expected car parking to be included. So you have to pay on online and request your car online (not that much of a problem. However it then asks if you can tip them every time they move your car. So that’s £30 to park plus £8 tip every time they move it. I had to pay for parking in Memphis but that was £21 a day and move it as much as you like. Also tipping in the bar requires arithmetic after you’ve had a drink. I’m going to the bar for a drink not do your paperwork. My paperwork isn’t accurate when I’m sober let alone after five beers. In this day and age surely the till can do that.
