Hotel Marcel New Haven, Tapestry Collection By Hilton

I booked one day previous my arrival. When I checkes in, the hotel was 100 U$S cheaper that my reservation, but I had to pay the full price . They said it is something normal. I felt disappointed with Booking. It's a shame since the hotel and the room were nice.

The hotel was OK except for two major things. One was that all of the lights are controlled by a computer system; the lights don't have hardware switches. The problem is that around 12:30 at night the system malfunctioned, and it became impossible to turn the lights off. The other problem was that there was a huge amount of noise after midnight. I don't know if it was a party at the hotel or it was car stereos outside the hotel, but either way it was about the loudest noise I've heard in a hotel after midnight.

Great furnishings, cozy, good view, enthusiasm from the staff about the history of the building.

Area is kind of rough. Trash from IKEA next door blowing up against the fences. Long walk to Downtown and train station but there is a free shuttle.

Location was fine-accessible off 95; close to DTNH.

This property is a repurposed building and they did a really nice job with it. Very well laid out. Upgraded as a Hilton Diamond members to a large corner room. The light controls and thermostat is all controlled by a tablet mounted near the door. This took a few minutes to figure out. Sun shades are all remote controlled next to the bed as well as light switches. Bathroom counter was surpriaingly small for a large room. This may be challenging for parties of more than 1. Breakfast was very good and seemed very "farm to table" like. I would return here if in the area again.
