"Without barking dogs it would have been the perfect stay."

8.0

Fabulous room, love the decor, perfect for our anniversary. Great art work and interior design.

We were not aware dogs can stay and didn’t enjoys 2 sausage dogs yapping late at night and being woken at 7am by them barking continually on and off. We will learn from this and would always check the dog situation in a hotel before booking. I mentioned to reception but they didn’t seem very apologetic.

"Fabulous stay!"

10.0

We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay at the hotel. I really could not fault it, the staff were fab from start to finish, the rooms were just what was needed for a city break and the beds so comfortable! Loved all the attention to detail and the restaurant/bar downstairs did great food and drinks. Highly recommend!

"A Boutique Gem Where Bristol’s Soul Comes Alive"

10.0

I wasn’t sure what to expect checking into Artist Residence Bristol because Bristol itself was new to me. A boutique hotel in a former boot factory? Could be interesting, I thought. Turns out: Artist Residence properties have a casual luxury to them that makes, for example, the Bristol escape one of the most memorable stays I’ve had in the UK ever! The building’s stately Georgian façade gives way to an interior pulsing with personality: exposed brick, original beams, and artwork by local creatives that make every corner feel curated yet unpretentious. The rooms are a perfect mix of comfort and character. SPLURGE on the Artist Suite with its light-filled space and park views!!! It made for a restful base after days exploring the city (and seeking out Banksy artworks). The beds were decadently comfortable, the bathroom stocked with full-size Bramley toiletries (eco-friendly and gentle for most skin types), and the little extras like a Roberts radio and stocked minibar made it feel truly thoughtful. What really stood out was the café-bar - a lively neighbourhood hub serving everything from brunch to sourdough pizzas and a fantastic selection of local ales. WHEN UNSURE: Ask the hotel team! The staff know their stuff and made learning about the local brews and party spots a highlight of my day. If you want a hotel that’s more like a local’s quality living room - creative, welcoming, and layered with Bristol’s vibrant energy - this is it. Perfect for solo travellers, couples, or families looking for a stylish yet authentic stay.

"Great hotel, top staff. "

10.0

Great hotel, excellent cocktails, and lovely rooms with top-notch beds. I like the vibe, the ingredients, and the attention to detail. Good bits of art around as well. Nice part of Bristol. Near to list things. Staff know who I am and are friendly but professional. I like that.

"Shambolic"

2.0

Went in for lunch on a Sunday on a pre booked table. Place was dead and I can sure see why. Service was shocking. We were ignored for the first 20 minutes despite the place being empty. Then a (I think drunk) waitor came over and started rambling on about nonsense before eventually taking our drinks orders. Seemed liked there were staff milling about but not really doing much at all. Then the quite possibly drunk chap eventually came back with our drinks after another good 20 minutes or so. We asked for some menus and he said he go and fetch some. Somehow that took about 15 minutes. Then we were ignored for probably another 30 minutes until someone eventually came and took our food orders. Food probably took around another half hour to materialize. Chips were alright. The bread of the sandwich I ordered was a little stale. It was a very perplexing experience because it was honestly super quiet. To be honest, had I been there alone I would've left long before we did, but out of courtesy for my friends who seemed to want to stay I said nothing. If you would like absolutely useless service and a mediocre meal. Do visit.
