"A mostly pleasant stay"

I recently stayed at Kissel Uptown Oakland on a business trip and wanted to provide some feedback on my experience. I truly appreciated how accommodating the staff was, especially since I was traveling with medical equipment and needed to have PD supplies delivered. This level of support made my trip much smoother. However, I did encounter a couple of issues during my stay. The cleaning staff did not remove any of the discarded boxes from my delivered supplies, and the comforter in my room was not clean. While I understand there might have been a misunderstanding regarding the boxes, I wanted to bring these points to your attention. On a positive note, I really enjoyed the nice, quiet atmosphere of the hotel and the private terraces were a lovely touch.

"Expensive, Underwhelming, Won't Be Back"

Exceptionally over-priced and underwhelming. Smallish rooms, nothing too special about them, below-par service, uninspired food at the café. The rooftop (which was a big draw for many) is only open Friday and Saturday nights. I wanted to visit it during the day, and some people wanted to have time there on Sunday. Extra fees and high parking charges made the stay expensive for no reason.

"Nickel and dime-ing customers"

Mandatory “Destination” add-on charge of $27 is a joke! Front desk staff is not customer friendly either. Room was nice, but had to deal with regular glasses that are unsanitary. I would’ve left but was only in town for 2 nights with few options. AVOID.

"Kissel Uptown is such a treat!"

We love staying at Kissel! It’s very convenient to nice restaurants. I feel perfectly safe in the neighborhood. The beds are so comfortable and the pillows are perfect.

"Tres Chic!!"

What a gorgeous hotel! The decor and vibe were very swanky. The rooms and common areas felt very new and updated. Street noise was not a concern at all. The standard king room we had felt very spacious. The finishes in the bathroom felt elevated. I would definitely stay here again!
