Barceló Lanzarote Royal Level

We stayed at the Royal Level Adults only section of this hotel in a bungalow on an all inclusive basis. The bungalow was just perfect, cleaned to a very high standard, a good size and nice terrace with two comfy chairs. There is however no privacy between terraces and we did unfortunately have a noisy neighbour. Several people smoked on the terraces too which would have been very unpleasant for neighbours but we were lucky. I saw no signs regarding smoking areas, but most people chose to go down to the seafront to smoke. Reception was a huge area, not clearly signposted and I did feel the Receptionist was a little overfamiliar. But we were taken by buggy to our bungalow, after 3pm check-in. We used the RL AO restaurant. The food was of a reasonable standard but not a lot of choices. Breakfast was definitely the best meal. We used the Royal Level of the Mar restaurant once or twice and went to the Mexican restaurant but again not a high standard. There was a lot of hype with the drinks but again very average and several times we were given a different cocktail from what we ordered. We used the spa once but the water outside was freezing and inside was small. You have to purchase a cap to swim but people were swimming without them. We didn't move far from the hotel, only up to the port so I can't comment on the situation of the complex. Check out was chaotic, people everywhere. Our TUI private transfer didn't turn up and I had a problem getting anyone from Reception to help. We wouldn't go again, mainly because of the poor food choices but I wouldn't want to put anyone else off.

I, like most people, tend to read reviews before visiting a hotel. But I know happy customers don’t usually leave reviews. That’s why I never fully trust the bad things other people complain about. This hotel is perfect and I think it was the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. We booked a 3-night trip to surprise our now 9 year-old on her birthday. We arrive at the hotel at 10:30am and, even though our room wasn’t ready (check-in starts at 3pm like in most hotels) they gave our all-inclusive bands and allowed us to start using the facilities. I honestly didn’t expect it as it wasn’t even 11am. We booked Royal Level All Inclusive and I highly recommend it. We felt welcome from the moment we checked in- with lovely Beatriz the receptionist and Beatriz the experience manager. They explained everything perfectly and the check-in was done on a separate space. They also offer you a glass of cava or juice and were extremely helpful. We went straight to the royal level pool. It is a heated pool- and it was actually warm! My kids absolutely loved it, and so did we. It was never too busy and there’s a bar where you can have all kinds of drinks, coffees (from a coffee machine) and food freshly made by a chef- ALL INCLUDED. It was spotless clean and all the staff were lovely. We spent most of our morning and afternoon there and they had live music and activities too. For breakfast, lunch and dinner you have the Asana restaurant, which is an exclusive restaurant for Royal Level guests. It’s really sad to see how people leave bad reviews about this food when it was incredible. The meat, fish, cheeses, charcuterie, salads, bread. It was all of such great quality, how can anyone complain about it? You could have smoked salmon for breakfast, eggs royale made to order, omelettes, dozens of different pastries and bread. I’ve never seen such a great spread in any of the hotels I’ve visited in the past. The staff were also lovely, especially Julio the Cuban waiter, my daughters loved him and he was constantly talking to guests and smiling. The entertainment was also good, we didn’t go to many shows as my daughters were too tired. The room was spotless clean. We had bathrobes and slippers, plenty of towels and a walk-in shower with 2 different heads. We stayed in a junior suite and the kids had a sofa bed which (luckily) could be separated slightly so they had one single bed each. We asked for extra blankets and they brought them to the room in minutes. The mini bar had a selection of free drinks (we didn’t really use it) and also a coffee machine and kettle. Coffee capsules were replenished daily and also mineral water (you can’t drink tap water in the Canary Islands) There’s also a bar for royal level guests only with live music and fabulous cocktails. It was my daughter’s birthday on our second day there and they left her a hand-written birthday card and some sweets. We left extremely happy and will definitely come back. And to top it all off, we forgot our iPad on the safe and they contacted us and sent us a taxi to the airport with it. Alberto the check-out receptionist was also great and really helpful, they all really were. If you’ve read the negative reviews please don’t trust them. This hotel deserves the 4 stars

We spent three nights in the Barcelò Royal Level Lanzarote with our kids. We had the best time ever. The hotel facilities are great, the staff always attentive and very nice. The food is amazing, fresh and really tasty. The room was very clean and quiet. We stayed in the Royal Level side of the hotel so we enjoyed the best of this hotel. I cannot believe I read so many negative reviews, this place really deserves 5 stars all the way and perhaps certain people should just stay home or elsewhere… Special mention for Julio the waiter from the Asana restaurant who made us feel part of a family. Thank you Julio and thank you to all the staff of the Barcelò Royal level.

Nothing to do around the hotel, very isolated. On site gym and pool are exeptional. Food great, rooms very nice too..

Spent 5 days with teenage daughter and her friend and had a great time. Lovely room and view, super clean, good range of sports activities and good choice of food and drink.

Made our stay wonderful, the room and the service was top notch! The heated pool wasn't heated, but on the other hand the buffet restaurants had good choices.

Excellent overall sports resort. Minor points included gym -big but only a couple of benches. Pool area for Royal level was nice but crowded. All the pods were occupied all day by mostly just towels so not much wind break. Yoga was good though and the restaurant food was of high quality throughout our stay.

A short but pleasant stay. I booked the Royal level but was a bit disappointed my room was not in the Royal section but the main block. The lifts were noisy. The staff were friendly, the food decent and overall it was good value for money.
