Lochsa Lodge

We got there a little after 10pm. All the doors were locked, everyone was gone, except a poor homeless lady with her dog sleeping on the front porch of the main lodge. We had no idea where to go or what to do. There was no email to tell us what cabin we were staying in or how to get there. Check in instructions were 4 pm to 11 pm, but there was no one. Luckily a random housekeeper was taking out trash and he called the manager and found out we were in cabin 18. Unfortunately, the 8 had fallen off the door and for an hour he tried to confirm that was the cabin we were supposed to stay in. It didn’t smell great, but it was warm and we were exhausted. The next day we tried to get directions to the hot springs, but the girl at the front desk was lost and confused. She got some directions together, which we followed exactly and after several hours of wandering down a wooded path with no signage we gave up, checked out and left. It was an awful experience from beginning to end.

Communication: poor. Signage: absent. Service: non-existent. Help was asleep and didn’t care about leaving a tired family to freeze in the dark or a poor homeless lady with her little dog. It was very sad.

Awesome locations for hot springs, hiking, and fishing. Staff is very polite, professional, and welcoming. Cabin was very comfortable and clean. On-site gas, store, and restaurant made the stay very convenient.

remember to stay longer

On Sunday afternoon, even though restaurant had only 2 tables sat and deck had 3 tables sat, our party of 3 had to wait over 30 minutes to get a table to relax and have a drink. It's hard to relax over a drink, which is why we were there, when you have to wait in a lobby area for 30+ minutes for a mostly empty restaurant and deck.

I love the setting of Lochsa Lodge, and have stopped by, and occasionally stayed overnight. I have eaten there many times. I feel the current menu is trying to be too trendy, and food quality has suffered. This is Idaho, rural territory, not Seattle.

Lochsa Lodge is a place to stay if you’re looking for a peaceful serene getaway! The mountain setting is beautiful. Our cabin was comfortable, clean & quiet. The The staff was very friendly & helpful.
