The property is spectacular. The staff is well trained and extremely helpful. The food is great and the rooms are clean and cozy. Special mention to the Chef - Parvati who accommodated my mother's special request and made her a special meal for her fast. Also Ms. Pema from the restaurant was extremely helpful and made perfect recommendations both for food and local sightseeing.

The location is almost an hour outside of Gangtok so it adds up for all the day tours to Nathu la and other sightseeing places

Mr Sudip Chakraborty who is managing the entire property is very courteous and helpful. Other than him nothing else was good.

I booked the hotel by trusting the Vivanta brand name. But the hotel did not live up to my expectations. The hotel is located approximately 30 km away from MG road Gangtok, which is a major major setback as commuting become as a real big issue. The road to the hotel is in a very bad shape, the entire stretch is broken and bumpy and not many cab drivers agree to go there. The ones who agree to come to the hotel and take you around Gangtok charge a bomb for a 70-80 km ride. we were charged Rs 5000 for Gangtok and Rumtek visit and Rs 4000 for Gangtok MG Marg visit. cabs charge Rs 14000-15000 for Chungu and Nathula Pass visit. moreover once you are in the hotel you are stranded and if you have not arranged for any local cab then you are at the mercy of the hotel travel desk which charge even more for the above mentioned trips. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere and does not have any good view from any of the rooms. That’s why visiting this hotel is a big no from my side. On 2nd June, at 12 in the night, there was a major issue with the AC of our room as it stopped working. I called the duty manager to either quickly fix the AC or change our room. Once the electrician confirmed that the AC could not be repaired in the night I again called the duty manager. Instead of helping us he blatantly lied and told us that the hotel is sold to capacity and they do not have any rooms available in the main building … if at all we want to shift our room we have to manage with a room available on the porch …. I immediately called Mr Sudeep to help us. He intervened and immediately provided us with a rooms on the same floor. But our suffering did not end there as the rooms that was provided to us also had a faulty AC. We slept without the AC all night with the outside temp of 31 deg. next morning I called the duty manager to repair the AC. The hotel repaired the AC at around 12 noon. The hotel did not even bother to compensate us for such mismanagement.

Vivanta Pakyong was an exceptional experience! The entire team was warm, friendly, very polite and kind. They went out of their way to ensure that everyone was comfortable and happy. We were a group of 2 children, 2 adults and 2 senior citizens. Special thanks to the wonderful team : Reception Team : Mr. Titus led us through a very smooth and seamless check in. We had a long journey in and were exhausted, so this was a much welcome experience. Mr. Kishan was warm and friendly and gracious enough to take great care of our parents (who are senior citizens) and make sure that all their needs were met immediately. Kitchen Team : Chef Amiya to Chef Parvati went out of their way to ensure that 1 member of our entourage who was gluten free and dairy free was given absolutely delicious meals with such effortless ease. Talented attendants at the restaurant: Mr. Dipesh took great care of everyone’s needs at every single meal with such a polite and cheery attitude. Travel Team : Mr. Pema who coordinated all our travel plans with such diligence to ensure that everything went smoothly, and who was extremely patient even prior to arrival to answer the multitude of questions. Mr. Pawan Chhetri who took us for a nature trail walk and shared so much in depth information about the local culture and the forests, which was very enlightening. We thoroughly enjoyed his knowledge and his extremely jovial personality. He also took excellent care of the children and the senior citizens which was truly amazing- and really made sure that the trek was fun for everyone. I highly recommend this hotel. 10/10
