Hotel Tara Machupicchu

This is a great location if you are catching the Machu Picchu buses early in the morning, however, the hotel was less than what we expected and paid for. I would not recommend it to others.

Our room was very comfortable, especially with the blankets the staff provided. Cons were that our shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and the walls/doors were extremely thin so we were awoken a lot by anyone utilizing the stairwell. The breakfast was a little bit lacking - more variety would have been nice.

Very nice and basic hotel. The room was very clean. Our room was a triple and had plenty of room for all of us. The shower was hot and good water pressure. Breakfast was ok, but the coffee was very good. Overall very nice value for the money when visiting Macchu Picchu.

Our stay at the Tara hotel Machu Picchu was excellent. They had someone meet us at the train station to help with bags and to show us the location of the hotel. They allowed us for early check in and were accommodating our entire stay. Breakfast in the morning was nice, and they had eggs made to order. The location along the river was great and it was close to the hot springs in Aquas Calientes. We would definitely stay here again.

Very dirty! Mouldy duvet. Horrible bathroom facilities!

The room was big and comfortable. The staff were super attentive and always responsive. I felt safe as a female solo traveler.

The place is in an excellent location. Away from the crowd noise.

Nice, newer hotel. Big rooms and hugh beds. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is ok. Close to all things in town.

Our stay was very comfortable, with the largest bed I’ve ever seen! Our ‘king size’ bed was the size of two queen mattresses. Very comfortable and we drifted off to the sound of the river outside our room. Some of the best hotel sleep I’ve ever had. The bathroom had all the amenities; shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer (and super fluffy embroidered towels). Due to the humid environment we used a space heater provided by the host, and it dried towels and any damp clothes very well. The location was far enough away from the central plaza, so noise wasn’t an issue. Everything is within a 15 minute walk. Including the train station and buses to Machu Picchu ( the reason for our visit). Our host provided bag storage on our last day, due to a late train departure. I highly recommend this boutique hotel.
