The room was tiny....and the double was also very small.

The location was fine, the staff pleasant and the dinner very good. The staff were particularly helpful, helping me to sort out my incorrect booking

I do have mobility issues but do manage most stairs. The stairs were very steeply pitched here. i managed until the top where the bannister finished well short and made balance very precarious. The room although small was comfortable but couldn’t find the light swich. I used the light from the en suite and tv to see by. I found the switch later behind the tall bed head which was so tight up to the wall that the switch could not be used. I had an early start a.m. and had not required breakfast. My phone slipped off the bed into the very narrow gap to the wall and couldn’t be reached so I hoped a member of staff would assist I also left my holdall for someone to fetch for me as it was too risky down the stairs. On getting down the stairs access to the pub was locked. Despite hammering on the door no one came. As I was committed to be elsewhere i was very worried. I then struggled back up the stairs to try whatever it took to retrieve my phone which I did. Next i decided to take a look at the fire escape which had been mentioned when being shown to my room. At first glance it looked impossible for me with a large bag. However, I am resourceful and taking a pair of my tights out of the bag tied the bag to them and lowered it down. Following very gingerly down the open tread metal steps. I was very conscious that had I fallen, there was no one about to help. So, I had made my escape but was very angry at the necessity. I wrote to the management, I wanted nothing other than for them to recognise that certain things needed addressing. I do not like giving bad reviews without giving a fair opportunity for the business to respond in a private fashion. The answer I received was not reassuring. The bannister was adequate, it shouldn’t be used to pull upon??? The light switch was behind the bed head yes, but it was a budget double room so not a lot of room in there. AND guests were told that latecomers and early leavers were told to use the fire escape.I WAS NOT TOLD

Lovely place, perfect for our 1 night stay with beautiful views. Great food, very friendly staff who were so lovely and comfortable room. A 5 min drive into Holmfirth. We'll definitely be back.

Our room was too small. Paid for double for couple and was 3/4 bed which was difficult to get in as you could only walk at one side of it. This split the experience

Breakfast and room was lovely decoration.. I could not find switch to ceiling lights but that was small issue. Room had a lovely view of countryside.

Just i could not locate light switch for celing lights.
