My second stay and super comfortable and convenient. Looking forward to dining at the restaurant.

Snacks and the minibar was excellent. Felt like my room could use a little touch up paint.

Highly recommend! Our change of travel plans to include a hike on Bear Mt led to a late reservation and a warm welcome from the owners; both very personable and accommodating. Dinner was icing on the cake. Kudos to the chef for presentation, quality and taste that exceeded expectations - a true gem of a find. If in the area again, we would return without hesitation.

Walls were a lil thin other than that no issuses.

The pictures misrepresented the property. I was truly disappointed with the physical appearance of the facility. Though the linen and towels were clean, the Alander is best suited for those individuals who just need a place to sleep.

I rated it this for a few reasons. The first is when we got there my family members got in their room with no problems but I couldn't get in mine until the manger let me in. There are keypad locks on doors. When I left the room I couldn't get back in till they changed the code. The room I feel was not renovated even though the other family members was. There is NOTHING to do on property. They have a restaurant but not sure when they served and the nearest one is about a mile away. The biggest problem was there is no way to reserve a room except calling them and hoping they call you back.

We liked the way to check in via cell phone and the code key entry. Also, Reid was extremely friendly and helpful. One thing I would change is to avoid using the room fragrance. It was a bit overwhelming (to me).

The Alander is my go to place when doing work projects or passing through the Hudson Valley into Columbia County. The spirit of the place is so great, and the attention to design details really suits my aesthetic. The check-in process is so easy that it feels like home when I pull in for the night. They have been particularly wonderful as a pet-friendly location, and the option to dine on amazing local, although internationally inspired, meals at North Star, is really great, too. I love that they support other regional businesses and also have the best, most community-minded staff. Highly recommended for those travelers who want a soulful experience that really gives back in all the best ways.
