the Alander

Very nice and clean room for a small business inn. The surrounding area has nothing open past 8 or 9pm usually but each room in the inn is stock with self-check out food and drinks. Would stay again!

An excellent spot for a weekend in the country. The room were comfortable and well decorated. The owners thought of lots of wonderful small touches like flashlights, smart tvs, and a generous offering of snacks to purchase. Plus I love a French press in a hotel room. The restaurant on site was delicious and the cocktails were well made. In addition, the fire pits were a nice touch and a great way to end the night. We got a glass of wine at the restaurant and sat there for over an hour after dinner. It was nice to know that we didn’t need to leave the property to have a good time. Close to great attractions, highly recommend a drive to Hudson, NY and visiting the Hillrock distillery. All and all this boutique lodge was the perfect place for a weekend away. We will be back!

Excellent restaurant at the hotel and very nice staff and owners.

Loved the location and the great staff. Property is still a work in progress, but it was still good, and I would return if I were coming back to the area in the future.

We had brunch at their restaurant, called North Star, for Easter with good friends, and it was delicious and hospitable. We’ve been for dinner before and that was great, but brunch is a new thing there and I’m so happy they’re open for that. Truffled mushroom omelette was excellent, my spicy Bloody Mary was the ideal complement. More please!

Driving up to the Alander is not breathtaking. However, when you go around the side to the courtyard, you find a quaint and well groomed hotel. The rooms were spacious with a Country cozy feel. The Rooms are newly renovated and shower pressure was fantastic. There is a gas station and convenience store a mile away to load up on beer, soda and snacks. The only gripe is that there was no propane left in the tanks for the outdoor fire pits. Boo! All around, a nice stop for skiing at catamount

Stylishly renovated place with a central courtyard with fire pits. The rooms are comfortable, with great beds and linens, a well equipped kitchen area with great teas, French press coffee and reasonably priced snacks. The bathroom has a fabulous rainforest shower too. The charming owners are planning to expand with a restaurant and pool, a great reason to return! Highly recommended.

Wonderful small motel. The highway view doesn't do it justice. Three firepits, including a massive steel bowl for wood fires, good cheer from the owner/manager, great location for outdoor fun. (Less than 10 minutes from hiking trail for Alander Mountain, which I hiked for lunatic fabulous views of fall foliage.) Great rooms with good water pressure.

I highly recommend a stay at The Alander. We had an amazing mini reunion here complete with friends in Adirondack chairs roasting marshmallows and singing around the beautiful campfire. Reid and Jason are amazing hosts. The rooms are newly renovated by the owners themselves. The bed was super comfy. The shower head was to die for. It sounds like so much more is to come. HR91 will be back same time next year! ❤️
