Saint-Gervais Hotel and Spa

The hotel was in a great location and had basic amenities for a weekend stay. It is called out as a spa hotel and the facilities are quite small and some basics were not provided in the rooms that I’d expect at a place calling itself a hotel and spa (like body lotion), but the bed itself was comfortable, the balcony view nice and clean. I did have treatments in the spa which were fine but the jacuzzi, pool and sauna were very small and not the most relaxing. Also, I had booked a triple room and it was very very crowded so would not suggest for more than 2 people.

There are great things to say about this hotel. Amenities are in line with a 4 star hotel. Lucille in reception was especially helpful throughout the five day stay. Comfortable room with a balcony facing the Alps. Buffet breakfast in the morning with a variety of offerings (cold and hot) though this was unchanged over the week so definitely something for the hotel to consider. On site restaurant serves delicious lunch for a reasonable price and decent portion sizes. Only used the pool and hot tub in the spa, which could be booked until 10pm and very welcome after a long day on the slopes. Other spa treatments are available at this hotel but not tried on this occasion. The location is perfect for skiers as the gondola is about a 10 minute walk or 2 minutes in the free bus. Free bus serves a wide area. Tramway du Mont Blanc is a few minutes walk away. The Thermes St Gervais is reached by a lift which is just behind the hotel itself. St Gervais town centre is a mere 5 minute walk and offers a variety of restaurants and bars which I tried (see my other reviews!). Train station is 5-10 minutes by car and about €25 from hotel ( even for France I thought this was expensive!!) Overall a great stay at this hotel.

I’m genuinely surprised by this hotel’s high ratings, as our experience was far from wonderful. The reception team’s lack of basic customer service made our four-day stay frustrating. Check-in was rushed and uninformative—we were handed keys and pointed toward the lifts with no effort to explain anything unless we asked. The poor service continued throughout our stay. A simple issue with my in-room coffee machine became a three-day ordeal. Despite multiple requests and assurances from reception, nothing was done. On the morning of check-out, I brought the broken machine down myself, only to be met with an aggressive and dismissive response from the receptionist, blaming me for not asking how to turn it on—despite their repeated failure to communicate. The spa was another disappointment. Reception was indifferent, offering no guidance. The space was small, overcrowded, and anything but relaxing. We canceled the remaining visits after the first day. The only saving grace was the massages, which were excellent. On a positive note, the breakfast at Avanti restaurant was enjoyable, with friendly staff and good food. Overall, this hotel lacks the service and professionalism expected at this price point. If you’re looking for a truly relaxing experience with good customer service, I’d recommend staying elsewhere.

I honestly don’t understand how this hotel has received such high ratings, who is writing these reviews, or where other hotel guests have stayed at before. Our experience was anything but wonderful. A basic training in customer service would be enough to resolve most of the issues we encountered. Our four-day stay was absolutely average, with poor customer service from the reception team. Check-in was quick but completely uninformative. We had booked two Superior rooms, received two sets of keys, and were simply pointed toward the lifts. The receptionist showed no interest in telling us anything about the hotel unless we specifically asked questions. The first morning, I woke up looking forward to a cup of coffee with a view of the mountains—only to find that my coffee machine didn’t work. It was plugged in but completely unresponsive. Having spent the last 15 years frequently staying in hotels, I know how to operate a coffee machine. After some investigation, it seemed that the fuse had blown, as nothing worked when plugged into that particular outlet. I tested the kettle in a different plug, and it worked fine, confirming that the issue was with the outlet, not the machine itself. I called reception, and a staff member came quickly but was unable to fix the issue. She said she would send a technician and asked if I would like a replacement machine. Came for a 5 night ski trip with friends. The hotel was excellent as was the service all of the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was well organised and the food was great exactly what was needed before a long day on the slopes. The bus to get you to the bettex Gondola picks you up around 40m away from the front entrance to the hotel with was very handy. Ate in the resturant one night and had a pizza which was good. Visited the spa each night the facilities were great my only negative would be that the jacuzzi wasn't very hot and felt a similar temperature to the pool. (Make sure you email the hotel and book spa access before you go as a few people staying the same time as us couldn't get a slot).

Ski trip with my family. Stayed for 5 nights and found it very convenient for Saint Gervais ski and eateries. Hotel is in a quiet location too so slept well. Only real issue was that the bar wasn’t open We’d and Thurs during our stay. Reception staff were very good.

Disappointing family meal. To start with a positive, the restaurant is very well designed and has a lovely atmosphere. We went with a group of 8. My starter was tasty and everyone else enjoyed there's. However, my main (trout risotto) was extremely disappointing. The risotto was tasteless and thick, like a bland rice pudding. I could not eat it. My grandma had the monkfish risotto and had the same experience and left most of hers. I expressed this disappointment to the waiter who said he would give the feedback to the chef. When the bill came, the €24 dish was still on the menu. This is a lot of money to spend on a dish that was half inedible. When I asked the waiter if he relayed the feedback to the chef, as he said he would, he said he hadn't. I was then told that as the bill had now come, we could not change the bill. This bill was over £400. They offered a 'gift' of a lemonchello. I declined this, as everyone had finished their meal and would have had to stay just for this. As someone who works hard for their money, it's a shame to spend it on disappointing food. If you value your money, avoid.

Excellent. Tout est très bien pensé. Excellente literie, chambres très bien insonorisées. Facile d’accès, commerces à proximité et pistes de ski. Personnels au top, souriants , accueillants et disponibles.

En famille 3 nuits 2 chambres Assez dessus de l’hygiène…. Des plateaux de restes de repas de nos voisins entre nos 2 chambres…. Chaque jour c’est extrêmement sale et dégoûtant de découvrir cela tout les jours malgré mes remarques à l’accueil Pour un 4 etoiles c’est très décevant…..
