The Hotel Castro San Francisco

This is an unattended hotel, which is good, but when I asked for a toilet brush, I was told I could purchase one nearby.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Castro. The property is clean the decor is modern, the room size is on the smaller side but appropriate for urban setting. Have 3 stars for the following reasons: 1. Broken/none functioning lighting fixtures for premium price cost. (Do have a video to show). 2. Inconsistent hot water supply. Stayed on the 4th floor and the hot water was in and out.

I didn’t realize when I booked that this hotel was self-service with no staff, but it ended up being wonderful nonetheless. There was phenomenal communication in advance and during the trip about check in, amenities, and checkout and everything went seamlessly. The room was well equipped with coffee machine, lots of plugs, a great shower, a very comfy bed, and even a little balcony. The hotel thought of everything. They leave you a couple of tokens for drinks at the bar downstairs, bottles to fill up in their purified water dispenser downstairs, and have an arrangement with the laundry on the corner to store bags before/after check in. The room was relatively small and oddly shaped, but I found it to be plenty big for one person. If you want to spend time in the Castro at a good price and value privacy, The Hotel Castro is a great option. I will definitely stay again!

The virtual part of this worked against them.

Beautiful room and easy to check in and out. Right in the middle of all the fun stuff and easy to travel anywhere. We had a rental car and were entirely confused on where to park it overnight, but we managed.

Did not have the best experience first time around - this time was absolutely superb. Seamless people free check in - good communication on text and email - was a delightful experience with exceptional immenities - bar downstairs was nice as well and a nice treat

We had a great time visiting San Francisco and staying at The Hotel Castro. There fast check-in process made it very easy get in and start our mini vacay. The hotel nice, comfortable beds with a great view of the Castro area. The other good thing was all the great food and bar options i the area. I would definitely stay at The Hotel Castro again!!!!

Fun decor and coziest bed ever. love that they thought of all the details and even had a steamer in the closet. There is a water station to refill bottles in the lobby and Nespresso coffee in the room. The bar in front of the hotel has great margaritas too!!

Rooms a small but cozy. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. I liked that check in was all virtual.

Hotel Castro was the perfect stay for our time in San Francisco. The location is in the heart of the lively Castro neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafes within walking distance. The hotel itself sits above a great cocktail bar -- rest assured the rooms must be sound proof as you cannot hear the bar from your unit! Our unit was very clean with a large comfortable king bed, pull out couch, full bathroom, two televisions, and a small veranda. Like most hotels in a city, the unit is rather small but we didn't come to SF to sit in our hotel room! The check in/check out was seamless given Kasa's tech approach. There's no onsite concierge, but none was needed - We would definitely stay at Hotel Castro in the future!
