607 Bay Inn Downtown Beaufort

This 10-room hotel in an historical building with water views at the foot of Beaufort’s Main Street has been beautifully renovated into modern and well appointed rooms. Christopher is a gracious and down-to-earth host who has thought of everything, including a a stocked kitchen on the first floor and coffee machines in both the kitchen and on the second floor. Our visit could not have been better!

This hotel is listed as a "guest house" in TripAdvisor. I didn't notice that when I booked it. All communication was done through texts. We were given a code to get into the Inn as well as a code for our room. At first, no one was there to greet us. Once we got into the Inn & were trying to get into our room, the owner's young son came by & spoke to us for a few minutes. He punched in the room code to let us in our room & gave us a restaurant recommendation. The location is great. It's right across the street from the main street where there are lots of shops and restaurants. It's also right across from the water, so we had a water view. Our room was also right next to the porch. When we got into our room, there was a couple sitting right outside of our room. The room was large, but the bathroom was pretty small. A couple of the towels in the bathroom had stains on them, so it made me feel like it wasn't as clean as it should be. There was a small area outside of our room with some cabinets, a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. We assumed this was for the guests, but we weren't sure if the coffee creamer and other beverages in the refrigerator were available for all guests. There were a couple of breakfast vouchers and 2 small bottles of water in our room when we arrived. We did not use the vouchers.

What word(s) can I use to describe our one night experience? Only one word….AWESOME! Okay, now multiple words. Sparkling clean! Super friendly accommodating host who greeted us at the door. Comfy bed. Thorough instructions of how to use the security locks both for the historic mansion but also our room door. Quiet…we were in the back away from the road! Private parking. Accommodating to let us store our HUGE cowboy ribeye steaks (we trimmed off the bones to give to hosts puppy). Other guests friendly but seeking privacy. Beautiful porch in front overlooking the water. Perfect for a glass (or two) of wine. No breakfast but vouchers provided for breakfast at restaurants within a block. Perfect relaxing atmosphere after a hectic four days of caring for an elderly relative!! Thank you!

We loved our stay at the inn. Location was great, perfect spot for our Anniversary trip. We will be back!

Stay here! Not only is it in the PERFECT downtown Beaufort location with convenient parking , it's so lovely on the inside. Super clean, with updated bathrooms and comfy beds. The Keurig's for coffee any time of day was an added bonus.

We like Beaufort as a relaxing getaway, and have stayed at 607 Bay a few times. For this visit we had the 1st floor Reverend room that had a view of the Bay and pivotal Bridge. Really like this large, comfortable room with a big walk-in shower. Very clean! There is no breakfast, but they give you a small paper credit to use at one of two coffee shops. They do have a kitchen with a Keurig, plus cups and glasses. The TV took some finesse to make it work. I would suggest bringing your own Roku, or passwords to use Netflix or other streaming services. I believe my husband was finally able to get programs on Samsung which we had never heard of. Nonetheless this is a very nice,, conveniently located Inn. The management aims to please, and keep you happy.

Clean, perfect location, beautiful building

We stayed in the very nice Room 6 - Duke of Somerset Room 2nd Floor Bayside. The room was quite spacious, with a bay and bridge view. Very comfortable king bed. HVAC/temperature was perfect. Overhead fan was nice. Walkin shower was nice. Favorite room feature: Easy chair in the corner of the room with throw. Spent many an early morning there as my wife slept. Kurig coffee station right outside the room with snacks. Minifridge with cream for coffeee and cans of drinks. Quiet. This is an older home that has been extensively updated and so there is not tradeoff vs. a hotel room, only upside. The host is extremely responsive. We messaged him that we were running low on TP, and literally seconds later, there was a knock on the door with the needed supplies. Plenty of parking, Restaurants are a very short walk away. In fact, right around the corner is the very fine Breakwater restaurant. I highly recommend the 607 Bay Inn. Will return.

Everything about our stay was wonderful! Beautiful historic home and you can’t beat the location! Would definitely recommend checking it out. We stayed 2 nights- we used one day to explore Beaufort and the other for a day trip to Hilton Head. Thanks for sharing your home!
