Commercial Travellers House

You have charged me for a room when I have not checked in.

Check in at the pub was fast and easy, staff were lovely and the location was fantastic. Room was a good size.

Bed was a bit soggy and bathrooms were dated but that is to be expected of a building this old. Having said they were dated doesn't mean they were bad. They were super clean.

The room was well equipped, loved electric blankets.

The bar was shut

I brought my own breakfast, so it was delicious. There was a bar fridge in my room to keep my yoghurt in and the IGA around the corner was well stocked with a great variety of foodstuffs. The beds were very comfortable and the reverse cycle air conditioning effective. The Prince of Wales Hotel, which manages the Commercial Travellers House was cosy, full of atmosphere and friendly.

The men's shared bathroom was across the hall from my room, with men's heavy footsteps hitting squeaky floorboards right outside my room on an irregular basis throughout the evening and morning. The Men's facilities featured a full bath, with overhead shower, a second shower, two toilet cubicles and a modern handbasin with mixer taps. The women's facilities, next to the fire escape, had one rather old and tired toilet cubicle, an old fashioned handbasin with separate taps that made hand washing a challenge, and a single bathroom with a full length bath with overhead shower, and no anti-slip matting. The men certainly had a better deal for their money.

Great customer service. Great room even got an electric blanket.

The Men’s bathroom needed a better sign. The women’s shower needed a bit of work

No ensuite, public shared toilet & stained pink bathtub shower for ladies Yuk!
