"Great stay, great staff and complimentary offerings"

Clean, comfortable, quiet, zen, spacious, offered complimentary local delicacies in the evening, wine, sake, tea. Easy access to sauna and hot bath on the premises. Good breakfast, shuttle access to ski areas although we had a car so it was easier to get around without relying on the shuttle. A few decent restaurants in the vicinity, but had to drive further for more choices. Young staff really attentive, professional and helpful. I would stay here again.

I will sound like Goldilocks … Beds a bit too hard and hot bath a little too hot but that is a matter of preference.

"Good vibe, superb service and nice hotel. Not far from many ski resorts in Hakuba."

The place was really lively. Helpful and friendly staffs. There were some snacks for customer and also free wine and sometimes sake. We liked the hot stone bath and onzen. I like the vibe of this place.

Pillows were not comfy to me. But my family were fine with them.

"A very nice experience with friendly staff and surprise ammenities"

breakfast as expected, coffee and jams and breads really good.... the lounge set-up with free tea and cookies and then free wine later... very conducive to talking with the international crowd of guests...all having their own great stories about skiiing boarding and more! The Hot rock steam area was very relaxing after a day on the slopes and private baths looked great but didnt have time to enjoy ourselves. Friendly staff etc!

no curtain on doorway to our 2 bedroom....beds super stiff but the Bedding comforter etc nice

Basic but immaculate. Free wine! Good breakfast! Lovely Onsen owned by Hotel only 50 meters down the road. Great atmosphere but most importantly brilliant staff.

This isn't a criticism of the accomodation or staff but transport links are poor and Ubers almost non-existent. Meeting friends in Happo was difficult and getting home involved over an hour's walk in the cold 3 times during my 5 day stay. Sadly for this reason alone I'd not choose Square8 or even Hakuba again.

"Relaxed and comfortable with your everything you need for a skiing holiday stay"

Rooms were spacious, cosy and warm. The place had a nice, friendly vibe to it. Breakfast had a good variety of choices. Close to Iwatake and Tsugaike.

The warm breakfast options were a bit cold sometimes, also if you didn't like egg, sausages were the only other warm option. Not as many restaurants and cafes within walking distance on that side of town compared to the Happo-One side.
