No17 The Promenade

Overall we had a really good experience at this hotel, the staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the room was well furnished and clean. The complimentary breakfast was also delicious. The only downside we found was that since we were on the ground floor and the building is quite old, we could very clearly hear people moving around in the room above us, which made it quite difficult to get to sleep when they didn’t stop moving until about 1am. Obviously this is not the hotels fault, but in future I would request a room on the first floor. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely book again.

Very nice hotel, we stayed 3 nights. The room was spacious, good bathroom, very good restaurant and breakfast. Easy walk downtown. Staff very friendly and the lady who was in charge is like a super woman she was on topof everything

The staff, decor and breakfast were the top pros of this property. A very charming boutique hotel right across from the water with an exceptional view. There is parking onsite and complimentary breakfast in the morning. It is about a 15 minute walk from the city center. Would stay here again.

Besides an outstanding in-house manager the hotel lacks a lift, all rooms are above the ground level and nobody was available to help with the luggage, we have to ask for outside help. The room bathroom was tiny to say the least and lack even tissue paper; finally the hotel does not have laundry service, which is not acceptable in a hotel that charges almost US$400 daily per a room. Breakfast was good but I shall not return to it.

I enjoyed our stay at No.17 The Promenade. The hotel staff were very pleasant and the decor in the hotel was pleasing. Our room was clean and nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately there was a constant noise all night from the kitchen, possibly from a refrigeration unit, but fortunately I had my earplugs, which I wore most of the time, drowned out the noise. The evening meal my husband and I had was very nice and there was a good convivial atmosphere. We would go back to the hotel but would request a room at the front of the hotel.

The manager and chef were phenomenal! Book dinner reservations far in advance. Best breakfast in Scotland! The rooms are each unique and lovely. Can't recommend it enough. If you're in Oban, stay here.
