Doghouse Margate

The stay a beautiful. Really exceptional room and private bathroom. Extremely clean and luxurious bedding and pillows, nice bathroom products and great shower. Very comfortable and they had a tuck shop on the landing for if there was anything you needed after hours. It was very quiet and the breakfast was really really good and they brought it up to our room. We would absolutely recommend!

Zero, everything was perfect

Every possible need was catered for. They made a real fuss of our dog - and that was a very nice touch. The honest box for soft drinks is a great idea. And fresh milk available to make tea was much appreciated.

Car parking was a little hit and miss but in reality it was fine both times we tried to park.

The hotel was clean and comfortable on a quiet street. The breakfast was served in the room and was very good. The immediate area is rather run down, but Old Margate was very interesting with nice restaurants and bars and well worth a visit.

The road into Old Margate (Northdown Road) was dirty and noisy, but the alternative route on the coast road was much better and a nice flat walk into town taking 20 minutes.

The Doghouse is a great place to stay. Owners have thought of everything to make it so comfortable and welcoming. Amazing breakfast, really comfy bed and all absolutely spotless. Great base for visiting Kent coast. Parking in street, we managed to park close by each day. Surrounding area and properties appeared run down in places but would definitely recommend staying at The Doghouse

Older style house, beautifully renovated and decorated. Some luxury touches - eg dressing gowns and slippers provided. Coffee machine in the room. All the breakfasts were lovely and the Full English was one of the best we’ve ever tasted., everything cooked to absolute perfection. Mel and Fe both lovely welcoming hosts who really wanted you to have a happy stay.

Parking in Norfolk Rd, although free of charge, can be hard to find. On the other hand the bus stop is only just round the corner so once we got parked we left the car where it was.

A very warm welcome from Mel, who provided excellent service for our two night stay. Beautifully restored Victorian Villa and spotlessly clean.They have renovated to a very high standard and it is very homely indeed. Well appointed and comfortable room with all the amenities for a perfect stay. Even a fan in the room for the warm weather! Breakfast was served in the room and from a comprehensive menu. The full English was a feast for a king! Preordering breakfast on the site was tricky until we knew the name of the room we were staying in, but then straightforward. Would highly recommend this for a short stay. We loved this guesthouse and we were made to feel like special guests. Thank you Mel and Fe!! The Loop bus runs from the top of the road into town, Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Westwood across retail park (everything!!) and a Day Rider ticket was about £5.50, if you like exploring.
