Courtyard by Marriott Owatonna Downtown

Salt water pool, warm, nice and clean.Jessica was sweet and professional at front desk. When the Bistro was closed she offered granny and I some ice and went to get it for us without us asking. Jessica needs to give Brian recurrent training on how to give CS. Kylie at the Bistro was nice and helpful.

I called on June 28, ask GM Brian to block 4th floor handicap adjoining rooms for our 2 families as they did for us in Apr. our arrival would be Aug 11 and we just bought 2 rooms non ref from Booking.com so we will come. Brian did not care, seemed uninterested, lazy said to call back one week before arrival as he can’t block this far ahead even tho they have Fosse system which allows pre blocked rooms. I asked Brian to note it on my record, log book, tell staff we had to have these rooms. We were bringing 97 yr old granny and we all needed to help her at night. So I called back on July 24, 18 days prior to our arrival to hear those 2 rooms were blocked for someone else yesterday. Talked to staff members, can’t do anything about it. This ruined our vacation by 50%. We were given 2 waters, wine for both rooms at check in which was nice but did little to help with getting 2 rooms, not handicap on 1st floor. Brian never reached out to me, just hid out behind his staff. Brian left no apology notice to guest on Sat when electric and AC went out Fri due to storm. Storm not his fault but no generator and it became so hot ppl had to leave hotel. No mention or notice at front desk there was a great Farmers Market Saturday 6 blocks away, we found it Sat by accident and spent plenty of $ at all the vendors. GM Brian did nothing to promote Owatonna and revenues the hotel guest could bring. His LinkedIn said he’s into CS and property management but he’s NOT anymore. He’s worn out and doesn’t care anymore. I did not get any points for my 2nd room or the points from spinning their roulette wheel.

There is nothing to not like

We stayed three nights at the Courtyard Inn Owatonna. It is a new hotel in a nice location. The problem is that our room was not cleaned for three days. We alerted the hotel multiple times and were told that they had staff shortages. The garbage piled up for three days and we had to go to the front desk to get clean towels.

I used to be from the area and this location was a few blocks from where I lived and it's centralized to every place I would go on a weekend. It was very well decorated and seemed amazingly done with the architecture. Very impressed and would definitely stay again.

I do feel some of the amenities such as food and beverage were overpriced but that's roughly about it.

Very updated and clean

Hotel is brand new! The room was very modern & comfortable. Huge shower! Front desk staff was very friendly & accommodating. The same with the staff at the bar/bistro. The fitness center has all modern machines. The pool is small but adequate. I do wish they had a hot tub. Otherwise a breath of fresh air in an older, quaint little town.

Lovely room! We had to walk through a pretty raucous bar to get to the front desk…that was a bit off putting. The girl at the front desk wasn’t really into customer service…not friendly…like she needed to get back to her cellphone. Otherwise, parking easy, location very central. Not a very warm and inviting place.

Visiting family & were delighted that Owatonna has added this great property downtown!
