Swallow Cottage

Honestly one of the best places I’ve stayed in. We wanted a simple cottage that accommodates a dog & was quiet and relaxing. Swallow Cottage is unbelievable! The cottage itself is so warm & cosy, the hospitality was incredible & there’s even a dog paddock section at the rear for the dog to run around in. The host is absolutely lovely & you can tell a lot of care & attention has gone into this cottage. The location of the cottage is roughly 20 mins from Harrogate & 20 mins from Knaresborough. It’s a lovely part of the world and this property belongs there. If you want a break from the hustle & bustle of life, but still want to be able to have day trips to nearby cities then this is absolutely the place for you. Cannot recommend it enough!

The cottage was beautiful, cosy, well furnished, with many special touches. Gail, our hostess was charming and very helpful. She has definitely provided everything one could need for a pleasant stay, including spare toiletries and some food stuff in case we had forgotten basic products. And everything was good quality. We have stayed in 4 and 5 star aparthotels before, where the provisions were not as thoughtfully put together. The location is very quiet and peaceful. Perfect!! We would stay there again.

Immaculately clean, Gail the owner is very professional and has gone above and beyond on the finishing touches of this property. 30mins walk to Bishop Monkton,(excellent meal in the Mason Arms) 1 hour walk to Ripon easy walk along the canal tow path.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about the property

Beautiful property exceptionally decorated. Easily the cleanest place Ive ever stayed with every little detail thought about. The location was fantastic, just a short drive into Ripon or a slightly longer drive to York

There was nothing at all not to like. This is the first place I’ve stayed where within 5mins of arrival we were planning our next stay

How clean and laid out it was

Loved the stay absolutely perfect Gail has literally thought of everything so many lovely touches. Spotlessly clean, quite, warm what more could you ask for . We took 2 little chihuahuas who also had everything they needed ie bowls biscuits even a little night light so they can see where they are. Gail is always on hand if need but also gives you privacy if need. And a lovely person genuinely nice this shines through. Loved hearing the crows in the morning. Lovely hot shower 🚿 stunning towels Really enjoyed close to lots of lovely places. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 All day long .

Wonderful cosy cottage, the host was friendly and very accommodating. Lovely treats provided for us and our pooch, would definitely recommend. Close to York and Harrogate so lots to see.

There was nothing to dislike

We loved everything about Swallow Cottage. It really is a hidden gem of a cottage. The cottage is spaced out over two rooms. The living area with kitchen is so well equipped with everything you could need. The candles, record player, games & fire are everything you need for a cosy night. The beds super comfortable & the showers bliss after a rainy walk! We loved it so much we’re planning to go back in summer to star gaze. Thank you Gail for the most relaxing NYE stay xx
