Hotel Square Macedonia

Don't expect a fancy place with five stars service and huge suite sized rooms. Except a small place run by friend and family in literally the city center. Rooms, furniture, and bathrooms are heavily outdated, but the great staff and the perfect location compensates. The breakfast was really good, it is in Trend Café, located on the ground floor.

This is very centrally located hotel, poorly signposted. No lift from 5th to 6 th floor so be careful if you have heavy bags to carry! Rooms are average sized, clean but terrible smell of smoke! people smoke in spite of non smoking signs, heating can not be controlled manually so you could be roasted !! Helpful staff

The location is superb, with the same view over the central square that the fantastically expensive neighboring Marriot has, but at a fraction of the price, The reception staff are young, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic, the furnishings quite scruffy though clean, but the rooms are warm and relatively quiet since the street below is mostly pedestrian only. What is curious to me is why the manager/owner doesn't make the best of this prime location. The communal space overlooking the renovated baroque style central square is bleak but could be converted into a prime cafe - with a change of decor, big potted plants, better quality furniture and of course a range of coffees and other beverages. Guests get coupons for the restaurant below Bistro London. My experience has been very mixed, from waiters who have simply ignored me to a lovely lady who greets me with a smile. Best to arrive after 8 am when this lady starts her shift, Good breakfast menu including Eggs Benedict, omelettes, Macedonian style breakfasts etc. But you need to pay for your beverages.

Looking for an inexpensive room in the heart of the city with a great breakfast and a quiet room? Look no further! Absolutely it's dated. Absolutely it's a little down on its heels. Absolutely it's not the Ritz! But the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and quiet, and I sleep like a baby there. The only caution I might throw in here is that the elevator actually stops on the floor beneath the hotel, so if there is a lot of stuff to carry, you'll need to carry it up one flight of stairs. Other than that, if you want just a place to lay your head..and a delicious breakfast included with the room at the restaurant next door.... this is an inexpensive option.

Hotel; On 6th floor. Lift only to 5th. Only about 10 rooms on the floor. Great view out of the balcony room at the end of the hotel looking over the square. Very friendly staff. Tried to help whenever we needed a question answered. Room; Quite a small room. Had a double bed in it, however the sheets on it didn't really cover the bed width making it impossible for 2 people to share. Good working air conditioning. Shutters on the outside of the window which shut out all the light well. Ledge outside the window which the birds enjoy making noise from. Wifi worked but was very slow even with full connection. Bathroom was fine. Location; Pros and cons with the location; it's central. It's central so it's easy to get to everything you need. However as it's right on the square it's extremely noisy at night into the late hours of the morning. Breakfast; The room came with an included breakfast in the price. The breakfast was at the Trend restaurant on the corner of the square on the ground floor. The breakfast was a choice of cooked breakfast, tortillas, omelettes, eggs benedict and fruit and yoghurt options. Drinks are NOT included however. Nice restaurant- not the best service but the prices are quite good. Less than 200 mkd for a fruit juice or smoothie.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location. Besides this you shouldn't expect too much. Our room for 30€/night was rather cheap but it also looked like this. The furniture was old and worn and the bathroom smelly. The guy at the reception struggled to provide us with some blankets (which were missing when we entered the room) but couldn't find any bed sheets. So we took our sleeping bags. When I wanted to pay for the room they didn't have any change so I had to get some myself.

This hotel (if it can be called so) has just two advantages: 1. Is in the centre of the city; 2. The breakfast is plentiful at the restaurant downstairs. Other than that the rooms are outdated and smell of old and mold. Every piece of furniture reflects the same outdated decour. The bathroom is awful and I was happy to spend just one night there. Staff feedback was mix. One had poor customer focus the other was more client-oriented. I wouldn't recommend it for more than an overnight. Even then try for a better one!

The small Hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of the city just a few meters from the Square on top of a business building with a direct view on the Alexander the Great Statue. The rooms are clean, simple and cheap with AC and you have the possibility to get your breakfast (Voucher) in the Trend Restaurant next to the Square. Perfect to rest after a party night, but of course not to compare with the comfortable and bigger Hotels in Skopje.

We arrived in Skopje and just looked for a nice place for a day and a half with a reasonable price, but the minute the staff welcomed us warmly and in such a friendly way (not to talk about the reasonable price) we decided to stay! The location is great, AMAZING staff and the breakfast in the corner restaurant was worth it all! We needed a taxi to the airport, and when it did not arrive, one of the workers took us himself in the middle of the night! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Wonderful view, clean, good service, wonderful staff lead this hotel. We stayed here a few days and have a good opinion, I would recommend this to anyone who comes here! Prices are worth what they are offering!
