264 The Hungerford

The property was accessible 20 min walk from the train station. The room was nice and clean plus you have your own toilet. We did not have any troubles checking in and out.

If the other guest is disrespectful. There was someone who took our drink from the fridge, did not wash the dishes and left the front door open which I think a safety risk. This person also slams the door which woke us up early in the morning. I think it would be good if the owners will put reminders on the wall.

The only thing I can think of is that the shower was surprisingly nice.

This was a shared, non smoking property. There was plenty of smoking in the living area and in the room we slept in before we went in there. The kitchen cupboards were full of filthy/used plates and utensils, pots and pans. There was like someone had tried to hide them in there so that they didn't have to clean them. The bin was over flowing when we arrived, with an additional bin bag on top of the kitchen counter. There were a load of "washed up" glasses on the drainer with bright red lipstick stains on them. It was extremely filthy. After contacting the owner, he apologised and said he would send someone around to clean. I left the cupboards open so they could see where they needed to clean and I also took the bin and bin bag out myself because the smell was terrible, only to come back to the cupboards just being closed with the dirty plates still inside. I told him about this and did not receive a reply and heard nothing for the rest of our stay. There were other people staying there at the same time, who were horrified and shocked over how bad it was. I will say that the room was nice and tidy, but it stank of cigarettes from the previous tenants. The curtains were hanging off the wall and the rail going down the stairs was also hanging off the wall. People kept sticking it back in but they collapsed as soon as they were touched by the next person. This is fine if you are a smoker and would only like to use the facilities to sleep and shower. We only took pictures to send the owner to show him. Didn't think to take any others to leave this review so we unfortunately do not have any more pictures than of the filthy dishes.

Took a while to get the access codes to get inside so had to wait outside.

Nothing really. For my room, it isn’t what was in the pictures. The bathroom was clean, not the fan though.

Many aspects, mainly smelly. Someone had smoked in the lounge also. Entry wasn’t straight forward, but at least when I called the number they did help. No slippers, no TV remote and whenI figured out hope to turn the TV on, it was stuck on one info channel (on repeat), and no fresh or obvious tea/coffee/milk even though there was a kitchen, it wasn’t hygienic to use.
