Brook Cottage Green - 2 Bedroom - Dale

The position was ideal, being right on the waterfront it had the most amazing views. The village of Dale had everything we needed for a long weekend.

I can suggest a few improvements that would have made the cottage even better : 1) a plug for the kitchen sink 2) more glasses in the kitchen 3) some hooks in the bathroom 4) mattress protectors and to really welcome guests 5) a welcome pack

Fantastic place with sea view. All was perfect. Cosy and practical. All what we needed was there. Nice bathroom with bath and shower. Comfortable living space with sofas and big table.

Loved the accommodation location, the cottage faces the beach. In the evenings we would just stroll down the beach & sit on the benches.... very peaceful & calming experience. One thing I would say is that the carpark could do with a bit of upgrading, when reversing you can't see the boulder....😱

The view from the property is exceptionally lovely - the sun on the water in the morning, even the distant power station looks majestic. The cottage itself is really sweet and has been renovated in an interesting way, retaining its old shell but feeling light and airy inside.

There were stains on both the sofas which made us not want to sit on them. The heating system was mystifying, with no useful instructions in the property guide. This meant we couldn’t control the heating to meet our needs, and we’re sometimes cold. The property guide needs to be more carefully assembled so it contains useful information. There were old sweet wrappers tucked into crevices from past guests.

The property is managed by Stay Pembrokeshire property management company and their care of the cottage, attitude to customer service and problem solving was apalling. We arrived on a cold evening after 6 hours drive to find out that the heating in the cottage was not working. After contacting the property management company, we were requested to stay in the cottage the following day to wait for the plumber to let him in, which we thought was an unreasonable request as we there for a walking holiday. We asked if we were able to cancel our following nights booking to find an accommodation with heating, this was only agreed on condition that we will vacate the cottage immediatelly, at 9pm in the evening. There we no other accommodation available in the village or within a 30 minutes drive. After 9 separate phone calls between the call handler and the manager, who refused to be in direct contact with us, we managed to agree a refund for the next nights stay. This palava took several hours and totally ruined our short stay in the cottage. We have now received part of the promised refund but not the whole amount. Also the upstairs of the property was very worn, big stains on the soft furniture, filthy insides of the windors, stains on the walls and so on. The property needs a good spring clean and some painting before it is ready for the spring/summer season to justify the price.

The location.

The property was dirty and unkept. The boiler was not set up properly, therefore the heating didn't come on when it should and there was no hot water unless we put the booster on. When I looked at the boiler, the time and day was not set correctly and therefore there was no consistency to either the heating or the hot water. The furnishings were dirty and tired and the beds did not have mattress protectors or pillow protectors on them which was expected in a rental property. The induction hob didn't work (turned on but couldn't turn it up to make it work) so couldn't cook anything on the hob. The TV wouldn't load anything via the internet so couldn't watch any of the sights linked like Netflix.
