The host went above and beyond for my stay. There was a slight dilemma with time of arrival and they quickly amended this by extending our check out time and was kind enough to leave us a bottle of wine! There was contact throughout and was very kind! The property was spotless and completely exceeded our expectations, we will 100% be back!

The boiler was turned off, luckily my husband is a heating engineer so knew how to safely turn it on. The bath needs a desperate upgrade, and they left minimal toilet roll for 4 people so we had to shop. It's ok for a quick stop off and that's all, but clean.

The owner was very polite and replied to messages quickly. The location was walking distance to 2 lovely pubs who served good food..

The location was further away from Chester City Centre than expected. On Booking.com it said that it was a 20 minute walk but it was more like an hour. The garden was not maintained and no garden furniture.

"Didn't stay at the property but host arranged accommodation"

So this review isn't about this accommodation as I couldn't actually stay there on the day that I booked, due to the Host calling and advising there was repair work going on in the bathroom. We got a call the morning of the stay to say we wouldn't be able to stay at the property for the above reason but alternative accommodation had been booked for us from the Host. I understand that things go wrong and if there were problems with the bathroom I wouldn't want to stay there, so I'm happy that we were informed from the beginning and alternative accommodation provided. The Host kept us well informed of the situation and sorted everything out, I have no complaints about how the Host handled the situation.

We didn't end up staying at the property due to circumstances that the Host told us about, but they handled it so we got alternative accommodation.
