Hotel Toplice - Terme Krka

Peacefully warming place...I can't explain better with words this wonderful small place in Slovenia name Šmarješke toplice a few km from head road Zagreb -Ljubljana, just 40 minutes from Zagreb. Nice Terme with two hotels...our hotel was Hotel Šmarjeta. Great rooms, big more enough, with lot of natural light over windows with the view on forests. Room was a very very clean with all needed equipment and big bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was very nice. From Swedish table you can choose lot of very good and tasty food over all time what we have for eating. Very warm and hospitality staff working like a football team who play in the same positions many years. I like this formation... Something about pools. Everything is ok, very ok...water was clean and if you ask me I like little warming. The small problem is place for sit and rest...around the pool is enough place for number of chairs what we have inside...but...That is not enough. Maybe the head of pool and ventilation system can do something and put a small fresh air inside or the better is put out air from inside to out side. But this is not big problem. For me important that is water was a really clean. My daughters feel very good every moment. Of course, something about hotel bar...everything is very good. Caffe was nice and excellent taste, the cookies was great and fresh. When we drink coffee on the outside terrace with wonderful view on the forests...You have feeling that we are on the different planet at the moment... I must say something about wellness and spa center. Massage was a very very good. Without massage holiday is not complete...The extra story of this our nice holiday is surrounding of this hotel...very clean with many informations about kind of woods and flowers. Great park for walking or drive bicycle or just sitting on the bench and feel sounds and smells of this very nice and warm part of earth...what we can expect more ...just searching a few new days and back again.

Not really a spar holiday destination but seemed like a geriatric convalescent home. Buffet meals were copious but unimaginative. Staff were brisk but friendly. Rooms, guest facilities (heated indoor and outdoor pools and saunas) modern and well maintained. Beautiful rural setting.

I spent in the hotel 3 evenings. I would like to stress the strong points of it: 1. Very nice placed (practically in the forest). 2. High/ professional level of hospitality 3. High quality of the service. 4. Healthy and really tasty food. As week points i can say only: 1. In the evening (after 11 PM) not so many thinks to do... 2. The percentage of old persons is around 70-80%...

Everything in this place was perfect , nice people , always smiling - very clean, from the room to the swimming pool always someone cleaning- detox program fantastic very professional staff- I'll definitely go back- food was excellent and the service and assistance it was always there - this place is right in the middle of a forest , so many path for Nordic walking around- the hotel organize one trip every day, or you can go by yourself following the path, but be careful they are not very clear -

I've done their weight loss health package and it was totally amazing. I had lots of relaxation time, enough exercise to feel like I'd done something, the food was super and the treatments were great. And the grounds are stunning

I really recommend Terme Smarjeske Toplice to both young and older visitors - the offer is very wide and staff is so friendly it makes you want to come back again and again... One of the activities we enjoyed most was Nordic walking and the excellent coach they have!

Best hotel I have ever been to. This was our second stay and again everything was perfect, service, food, rooms and swimming pools. We enjoyed our stay immensely. This time we stayed with our two year old girl and I really appreciated the fact that the staff went out of their way to make her comfortable. Everybody was very helpful and kind. The rooms were clean and spacious. The pools were great, water is kept at 32 degrees which suited us perfectly. Food was certainly the highlight of our stay since everything was grown locally and there was a great choice of organic food. Although we stayed for ten days with half board we never had the same meal so the choice was outstanding, from a variety of meat dishes, plenty of vegetables and great cakes. We also had great time exploring the country side. Even though it was the middle of the winter with lots of snow the paths were cleared. The hotel is surrounded by a lovely park with streams and a little pond. There are plenty of ducks so our daughter had great fun feeding them. Nearby places are well worth visiting such as the castle Otocec, beautiful hotel on an island in the river Krka, Novo Mesto and monastery Pleterje (not only very peaceful and spiritual but also fantastic wine). All in all it was such a wonderful holiday we are already planning to come back in spring and summer.

PLUS On the second day we have been without cold water, because pipes break down. The next day we got a written warning that water is note drinkable. The bathroom is in a bad condition. I have been there for fourteen days (rehabilitation after heart attack) and for at least four times I wasn t able to have a shower, because there was no hot water. For one day my husband come and we were very surprised when after lunch the receptionist telephone in the room and ask him, if he will pay the bill. I was staying for another week and I have all my additional services put on room number (manicure, masage,..). MINUS The best in this hotels is to go on nordic walking with the trainer Brane!!! There are many trails to go around. The food in a restorant Toplice is also very good and for all tastes.
