Oniro Skiathos

This place has the “wow factor”. The initial welcoming views, as you enter the hotel, are breathtaking. The hotel is well designed for outstanding views of Skiathos, neighbouring islands, mainland skyline and visiting luxury yachts. All visible from the pool area, bar, restaurant and especially the morning breakfast area. Our room was spacious, modern with a sea view and everything we needed including complimentary toiletries for our stay. The housekeeping throughout the hotel is 1st class and friendly staff always on hand to offer advice and assistance. The pool is an ideal size but with a limited number of soft, comfortable sun beds available around the poolside. Big, soft towels are provided by the hotel receptionist to use by the pool. There are ample seating areas for shade and eating. The bar area is a great place to sit and cool off, eat take in the scenery and relax. The bar menu is reasonably priced and the food is very good. The hotel staff are welcoming, friendly , attentive and extremely pleasant at all times. We were able to use spacious shower facilities on our last day with a late flight booked. The cases were safety placed in a secure room free of charge with plenty of space to access throughout the day. Breakfast was ideal and there was a wide variety of choices, including a freshly cooked hot selection and cold options. We hired a car for the full duration, prebooked in the U.K. which is advised along with the insurance. Parking near our room was easy. There is a free shuttle bus that seats 8 people into town 6 times a day and this can be booked the day before. The hotel is located high up so walking from the main, coastal road is only advisable if you are very fit as it is incredibly steep as a pedestrian and traffic can find the road tricky to navigate especially the first time!

A very restful and peaceful boutique hotel whose staff provide excellent service. The views are incredible and the hotel provide a free minibus service into the town. It’s not a location for easy walking but the views make up for that! Plus the bus service along the coast road is easy to use. The people, the food and environment make Skiathos a delight.

Just back from a week at the Oniro and what a fantastic find! From the minute we arrived we were looked after by the fantastic staff. Maro, Niko, Atashia, Chris and the rest of team could not have done more for us. The rooms were modern and spotlessly clean with towels and sheets changed daily. My only tiny criticism of the room was the lack of hangers and drawers for storage. The location of the hotel was to die for if you want a chilled and laid back holiday. The pool and views are amazing. If you want to pop into town you can use the regular hotel shuttle bus, which will also if requested drop you off at the local bus stop or beach. Breakfast was varied and delicious and food in the restaurant both at lunchtime and in the evening was beautiful. The service in the restaurant was also amazing. Niko made the best mojito on the island! Was so sad to leave, we have been truely spoilt and not sure how we will ever find another hotel to match the Oniro. Thank you guys for everything.

Just got back from a 4 day break to this lovely hotel, the rooms are very clean and tidy, with beautiful views, the rooms were clean daily with fresh towels and bedding, there is also a fridge and safe in the room. The staff are amazing as is the food and the pool, thanks so much to Maro, Niko, Atashia, Chris and all the crew for looking after us, we will definitely be returning and looking forward to seeing you all again 😊

Oh we loved it ! Quiet, adult and friendly. Staff wonderful, pool area and views elegant, rooms stylish. Best, last minute booking I have ever done! Minibus served a good purpose if you wanted to move around. We would have hired a car if we had been there for longer. Restaurant excellent. Just go! Top tip, take coffee for your room if you prefer that, they only put tea in the room.

Well we have just returned from a cracking week at the Oniro Skiathos. We’d like to reiterate what has been said in other reviews about the secluded location and fabulous views from the hotel but also to give credit to the staff who made our stay so enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble for front desk who sorted an easily accessible room for us when we informed them of kaths mobility issue, also they organised our hire car at a moment’s notice . Our room was modern and comfortable with a large bed . Our room cleaner was lovely and kept our room spotless..we enjoyed the buffet breakfast which had plenty of variety of food and was constantly being replenished by the ever cheerful staff. It was my birthday during our stay and on that morning I had a generous surprise when the head waiter and his team presented me with a birthday cake and sang happy birthday!. Took me by surprise and most thoughtful.. thanks and thanks for making our stay so memorable. Would thoroughly recommend Oniro ! Steve & Kath

The rooms are excellent great balcony for the morning but need furniture for reception side for afternoon sun no coffee or sugar on complimentary tray Room cleaned everyday with fresh towels Shuttle bus was an added bonus into town for supplies but we did hire a keep for three days to explore more of the island Bar prices in hotel pricey Breakfast was very bland after a couple of days The toaster was a domestic home 4 slicer which took forever causing queues or cold food please buy a new toaster

What a wonderful hotel this is!! From the initial warm and friendly welcome, the service we received throughout our stay from all the staff was first class, 5*!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel. Set in the most amazing position the hotel is perched on the hillside with magnificent views of Skiathos town and its surroundings. For those wanting a secluded, quiet and relaxing spot then this is it!! However there is also a regular daily bus from the hotel, with reliable and friendly drivers making return journeys down to the beach or Skiathos town so in a matter of 15 minutes you can be in the centre of town. This is a great service that we and many others used throughout our stay. Our room was clean and modern and serviced daily, The breakfast was a complete delight, a tasty daily choice from quite an extensive hot and cold buffet with very attentive breakfast staff. The restaurant food, again was delicious from a well varied menu. Staff again were just lovely, very friendly and efficient. We can't wait to return to the hotel next year. First solo trip, felt immediately at home , safe and welcome. The staff are superb. The hotel... Wow wow , a view which is heaven on earth.hotel is immaculately clean with little touches making it very sophisticated. No kids just birdsong, relaxing and quiet. If you want to relax and recharge it's the place for you. I'm sat waiting for my airport transfer in reception and I feel sad to leave. The hotel, staff and beautiful skiathos is truly a paradise.

Although this hotel is a little remote, this is balanced by the stunning views and the fabulous staff. Nothing is too much trouble for such a small hard working team. The rooms (only 40) are spotlessly clean and bright, with air conditioning, safe, fridge, TV, and comfortable beds. Most rooms have a sea view. Due to the slightly remote position, the hotel provides a free shuttle bus several times a day to Skiathos town, which must be pre booked (best to book the day before) - drop off and pick up is at the same point in town. The last bus back is at 11.15PM at night and if you miss it a taxi will cost you €15 (the bus leaves exactly at 11.15!). Although the ride to town is only 15 minutes, you would need to be extremely fit to walk it, with the access road to/from the hotel being long, steep and winding single track lane. A walk which is definitely not recommended, especially in the heat of day and it with it being unlit at night. There were no children at the hotel when were there, but apart from the small pool there is really nothing for them to do. The buffet breakfast is the usual affair and perfectly adequate. Although we did not eat dinner at the hotel (preferring to eat at the one from the vast choice of tavernas in town), we ate lunch most days which was excellent, great value and in most cases was a little too much for lunch! The bar closes a 11.00pm, and if I had one small criticism it is that it would be nice for the bar to stay open later so that you to take a night cap when you get back from town. Would definitely return!
