Great hotel and very Zen, close to a number of transport hubs which is handy to get around Kyoto. Not too many places to eat nearby however the hotel has a great bar and snacks so makes up in that area! Highly recommend it!!

幹線道路から聞こえる車の音が気になる
The booked room had a terrible smell, as other reviewers have noted. We asked reception to change us to another, which they kindly did. However the same horrible smell was present throughout our stay. The odor is hard to describe. A mixture of sweat, cigarette smoke and old carpet all-in-one that gets you everytime you walked into the room. In contrast, the ground floor lobby area smelled fine and became our refuge throughout the evenings until it was time to go sleep. All in all, quite disappointed with the room quality. Not worth the money. Also quite surprised that the hotel didn't have a formal restaurant, just a self-serve amenities area.
Walking distance to Kyoto Station. Good faculties for self-serve food and drink in the lounge area.
