Joy Beach House

We arrived in gloomy, rainy weather, which affected our initial impression, and figuring out the entrance and reception area was a bit confusing. The property is located near a restaurant and beauty center also run by the owners, so we weren’t immediately sure where to check in. Once we got settled, we realized the house is ideally located right by the beach, making it perfect for beach lovers and surfers alike. The room itself was very clean and cozy. We’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a tranquil and scenic retreat along Portugal’s coast.

We did have an unexpected encounter—a big spider was hiding between the curtains, which gave us a bit of a start.

OMG!!! This place is amazing: elegant, cozy and with a spectacular view. I regret leaving so soon, it is a place to be a couple of nights. Delicious breakfast and amazing staff!!!

This was one of our favorite stays. Beautiful place, lots of special touches. Every person that took care of us was very friendly and hospitable. We were so very comfortable here, we hated to leave.

Wonderful property that is well cared for. Lots of great common spaces to relax. On site restaurant was a big plus and food was very good. Excellent breakfast as well.

The views and facilities were excellent. Staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was beautifully presented, and there was a great choice of items.

Rooms were a bit sparse, a lack of wardrobe space. We would have preferred more privacy between the bathroom and bedroom areas.

Lovely little hotel, short walk down the hill to the beach. Cute restaurant downstairs where we ate twice. Food very good and reasonably priced. We had the attic room which had a fabulous huge balcony looking out to sea.

The attic room I suspect would be cold in Winter and very hot in the Summer as no a/c. Not suitable for anyone over 5’10” due to eaves.

Clean, spacious, warm ,inviting, quiet and comfortable!

It is very pretty B&B, very nicely decorated with a beautiful view of the ocean. Very charming garden and patio outside of the house. Room was very speciose and very well decorated with a lot of thoughts of comfortable stay. Our room had two !!! balconies with astonish view of the sun set. The room was bright with many big windows from the ceiling to the floor. Breakfast was served in the speciose dunning room with a big window wall facing to the ocean. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of choices!!!. Our host Igor was very friendly with great sense of humor. We enjoyed talking to him.

The only thing that we didn't like is that we stood in this place just for 2 nights (due to our plans). If next time we come to this aria we definitely stay longer in this B&B to fully enjoy the house (beautiful seating aria, patio and heating indoor pool) and surrounding aria of beautiful ocean coast with miles of hiking and bicycling trails.

The staff was excellent, the location of our room meant that we had a perfect seaview and could even hear the waves crashing at night, it was excellent. The whole place has a very chill and relaxing vibe with the selected colours and the low volume music, obviously the surrounding towns are nothing to write home about but really this isn't why you come here, you come here to relax and decompress. The last time we went was in 2022, two years ago and the staff still remembered us! How wild is that?

This is completely outside of the Hotel's fault, and more-over, it's actually a feature if you're like me, but it is in the middle of nowhere, nearby towns are very small and don't offer much in the way of entertainment, but again, we were looking for something very low key and chill, so this was great for us.
