Nysis Koufonisia

Of the islands we visited in Greece, I would return to Koufonisia. It is peaceful and calm compared to the hustle and bustle of the popular islands. Our host picked us up from the ferry dock, he had an app that tracked the ferry so even though our boat was late, he was right on time to get us. The owner was on sight helping manage the property which has been in his family for a long time. The hotel is new however, with all the modern comforts. It was like a paradise walking into the main area with the pool. Our host was so gracious and helped us arrange for laundry service. Breakfast was a highlight and a joy. The night before they provide a sheet with all kinds of options for you to select from. We didn't realize it would be so much food so we ordered a little too much the first morning. But the options were great! Omelet, bacon, yogurt, honey, croissant, chocolate croissant, dessert of the day, fruit, bread, marmalade, coffee, milk, juice, and cheeses. They buy it fresh every morning. It was generous and delicious. You can choose to dine in the room or by the pool. We choose the pool because it was so peaceful. In the evening the host offered us a free glass of local honey raki to drink and enjoy the sunset. It was the best raki we had on the trip and we went to find it at the grocery store later. it's our favorite souvenir to share with friends back home. The property manager helped us make reservations at a local fish restaurant, which was worthwhile. It's obvious a lot of thought and care went into making the experience of the hotel comfortable and charming. I would like to visit again just for the hotel experience. On check out, they held our luggage so we could explore the town while waiting for our ferry in the afternoon. We hung out by the pool for a few hours as well, even though we had checked out, they made us feel welcome by providing pool towels so we could sit with our feet in the pool.

Breakfast was delicious and had the choice of being served in our room or having it at the Bar area that overlooked the beautiful island view.

By far the best places in Koufonisia! Panayiotis and Maria made us feel very welcome and went out if their way to meet our every request. It’s a great place for family holidays as well as group of friends.

The staff at the hotel were absolutely incredible, they will go above and beyond to make sure you have an unforgettable stay. The hotel itself is stunning, with a beautiful oasis to retreat and relax by the pool

Everything. Particularly Panagiotis, Maria and the wonderful staff. Location was perfect, the design of the hotel (especially the pool/bar area) is really thoughtful and everything was kept very clean and tidy. Well done!

The staff at Nysis were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. They go the extra mile to make you feel at home by offering their recommendations, welcome drink to cool down, providing beach towels and umbrellas when you are off to the beach not to mention the beautiful breakfast and cheerful vibe. We would highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back!
