Lockwood Hotel

Spacious and comfortable. Very clean.

I spent 2 nights. No offer for fresh towels. No microwave in the room or available. They said they offered morning coffee and tea as well as fresh fruit. Fresh fruit option was an apple.

From the glowing fireplaces and elegant but comfortable lobby, to the subtle fragrances of the bath amenities, the Lockwood is a wintertime get-away treat. Enjoy the Colby Museum (and it’s new in-town sister), the Maine Film Center, Waterville’s extensive xc ski trails, and the offerings of delicious local restaurants, then rest and relax at the Lockwood!

I have stayed at the Lockwood twice now in the last month for business. It is a lovely and immaculate hotel on par with an expensive hotel that you might find in a large city. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well appointed. The only complaint I had from my first stay--as others have noted--was that the HVAC heat pump was incredibly loud in the room I stayed in on the 4th floor. When it blasted on at 3am, it took me a while to figure out how to turn it off. I then saw from other reviews that this is a known issue. I have since learned from a colleague that visits the hotel regularly that this is only an issue on the 4th/top floor. I did not have any issue when I stayed on the 3rd floor more recently. I will certainly make this my top choice for places to stay in the area in the future. A couple of additional details: there is a Peloton bike in the hotel gym, which was a pleasant surprise; there are plugs for charging electric vehicles in the lot across from the hotel (and complimentary valent parking); there is complimentary (and good!) coffee and granola bars in the lobby in the morning, there is also a nespresso-type machine with pods in the room, and I ate at the hotel restaurant on the evening of my first stay and the menu was creative and the food was delicious!

Amazing bed, very clean and comfortable. Reasonable drive to Sugarloaf. I’ve stayed in several hotels in the area and Lockwood is by far the best choice. Off season it’s a great deal. Waterville is definitely an up and coming location, highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed to watch the College Football National Championship Game and loved our stay! Right in downtown Waterville with easy access to whatever you want to do and wherever you want to go. The hotel is extremely beautiful and clean. Candice was our waitress and a real treat to chat with during our meal. The food is extremely good and the entire stay exceeded any expectations we had. I found the Lockwood searching online and it is exactly as represented in the photos. In a day and age where staff can seem like they wish they were somewhere else, they go out of their way doing their jobs here for you! We hope to visit this summer to just relax and enjoy the resurgence in downtown Waterville! Thank you for a great experience and accommodations! Kevin and Karin Stupca
