SKI INN HAKUBA

Everything provided by the property is perfect. The staff is extrememly nice and tries very hard to accommodate all of your needs. The breakfast is outstanding. My family enjoyed the game room even though the tables aren't exactlly level... it made it more balanced between the kids and parents.

It is a little pricey but I still feel the experience is worth it. I wish they had food options for lunch (they did last year) and more options for dinner.

- The location to ski in/out was good. - Rooms have everything you need and were quite comfortable.

Extremely disappointed with our stay at Ski Inn. We found what’s presented online for this hotel is far from what you experience when there. Let me detail why. 1) There is simply no vibe at this hotel. And the facilities aren’t what they say online. Examples: — No one is ever at reception so to get any help you need to continuously search for someone. — It’s extremely cold in all communal areas of the hotel as they don’t have the heating on and often no lights on. —The cafe is only open for a quick breakfast for guests in the morning which feels really awkward. It’s never open beyond that. — The games room is basically non existent, down in the basement cold and no lights on. — There is no dry room. It’s a basement. It’s as cold in the basement as it is outside and there is nowhere to leave your gear to dry. Also no where to sit to put your boots on. Basics you’d expect for a ski inn/out hotel. 2) The staff really need proper hospitality training. We found them to be not helpful and quite rude. Examples: — No one ever says hello or makes you feel welcome. It’s the strangest experience for staying at a hotel. You get stared at as you walk past a staff member over a nice ‘hello, how are you’. — We had an incident with our room for the first night where we could smell horrible sewage. Not only did the staff let themselves into our room without asking, but then they proceeded to burn incense and tell us it’s better. Then we had this horrible flower and sewage smell. We are travelling with our 5 month old and didn’t want him breathing all of this in and no one asked us if this was ok. We ended up demanding to move rooms the smell was so bad. It was unbearable. — We booked our snowboard bags to be sent to our next hotel and were told they need to be ready by 1pm so we made sure we were back and did only a half day of snowboarding.
