Kaila Na Ua Resort

We stayed at the Oceanview treetop suite. Many reviewers had commented on the steep climb to reach it, so we expected it. We arrived before check-in time and Shanelle welcomed us, allowed us to leave our stuff, gave us suggestions of where we could eat, and later contacted us to tell us that our room was ready. We found our luggage already in the room, which was very good of her. Shanelle also gave us a card for the local bus and explained how it would work. The day we left, she booked a taxi to Sigatoka for us. Shanelle was friendly and helpful. The office had books for guests to borrow or exchange, and some games The view from the room was absolutely amazing! and hearing the sound of the ocean, the birds, the wind. My husband loved the pool and the kayak. I was happy enjoying the view.

Low water pressure and very little hot water the whole time. We didn't have any hot water on Sunday morning, and no water at all on Monday around lunch time. These issues were later fixed, but they did cause us some inconvenience. The reception / office seems to be open only on limited times during the day. I would guess 9-2, but there is no sign specifying the hours. Contrary to what stated on the resort guide in our room, the resort website, and the Booking.com website, there is no "Shared lounge/TV area" or DVDs. There were no movie nights when we were there. Would be nice to have: life jackets for the kayaks a minimum of salt, pepper and oil for the kitchen

We felt welcome the entire time by everyone

Rox, Warren and Shanelle were incredible hosts, and we absolutely loved our stay! The great location, gorgeous gardens and stunning view were what led us to book, but then finding that we had the pool pretty much to ourselves, and also the run of bikes, kayaks and snorkelling gear was a welcome bonus. Our room was wonderful, and we’ll definitely be back!

Quiet, removed from the main road which naturally shields you from the noise and foot traffic. Facilities were clean and pretty, especially the deck and pool. Roz was very helpful and gave us great tips on the area.

Wifi had 2 bars of reception on the patio, connection was not so good in the room. A soap bar or pump bottle of body wash/shampoo instead of those little bottles would have been easier to use.

The best I can say about Kaila Na Ua is that it's location isn't terrible.

Dirty, disgusting, unclean, with mould-covered pillows and bed, no air-conditioning, tiny fridge, the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept (or not slept) on, managers that lie to your face and hide the fact that they don't have a consistent water supply. It is obvious that no deep cleaning ever goes on in this "resort" as the black and green mould on the pillows was extremely thick. They'd even put a second pillow case on the pillow to try and hide the mould, but the mould had penetrated that one as well! The mould, in itself, is an extreme health hazard, particularly for anyone with respiratory issues. Stay away for this place!!!

Small and friendly and a beautiful location

This is an ideal spot. Gorgeous views. Set in a quiet no exit road with little traffic but great restaurants within walking distance. Excellent coffee too. Loved taking the bus into Sigatoka, gave an insight into real Fiji.

A beautiful secluded boutique hotel situated on an incredible reef on the Coral Coast of Fiji. We were only steps away from the ocean where we snorkeled and kayaked daily and our patio was overlooking a lovely pool. The gardens surrounding us were lush and beautiful. The owners were always accessible, friendly and very helpful to us in planning our days. There are several eating good eating options close by as well. We loved our 6 night stay.

A few things would have increased our rating. The water craft needs some attention: paddle board fins broken or missing and no proper paddles so we couldn't use them. Kayaks were better but needed water drained out as plugs missing. Water supply was not reliable. Even when we showered during specified windows of time when the pump was activated, the pressure was sometimes too low to be effective. The morning we left, which was prior to the 7-9am window, we had no access to running water for washing up.

Liked the location and the pool and well kept gardens. Great nearby restaurants
